They have stockpiled food and weapons, and are sure that civilization will collapse in January of 2000. Notice how the doomsayers about Y2K vehemently shout down dissenters who think that society will probably not collapse on Jan. 1, 2000. They refer to them as "pollies" and "sheeple". A few of the posts were made by people on or soon after 1/1/2000, and the Y2K doomsayers still refuse to admit they were wrong, pointing out that they saw the local gas station raise its gas prices by 10 cents, and this is just the start!! But there are no more posts after about mid January 2000. After all that fact-quoting and arguing, you can't just admit you were wrong all along. There is no bboard in the database with that topic name. Either you have been manually adjusting the URL (perhaps by cutting and pasting) or something is seriously wrong with the LUSENET system.
