Ten things I like about America!

where did you read this shit?

I didn't read it, I've seen it. When I was over there, I was walking around putting my candy wrappers in my pockets because I couldn't find a trash can to throw them in.

BTW, I'm actually not bashing London. I truly enjoy the city.

That would be because we've been living with a terrorist threat for the past 75 years. If you put bins out in public places some fuck will put a bomb in it and kill people. Thus there are no bins anywhere where the IRA might like to plant a bomb - like prety much anywhere in London.

It's something you might find youself having to get used to in the near future.

You know I've actually never tasted a Krispy Kreme Donut in my life.

Krispy Kreme donuts rock!

I went to a 4th of July party last year - by 8:30AM we were eating Krispy Kreme and drinking Mimosas. It was a good day. :)

Yes, when i return home each year for a vacation, my wife (Texan), always comments on the higher quality of 'Motorways' compared to Freeways, and how many extra street lamps we have...lol

Ten things I like about the UK........

When I got out of the Army, a company in Redhill gave me my first civilian job flying helicopters in the Arabian Gulf.
I drank Guiness the first time in a little pub in Redhill with an Iranian, Irishman, and a Brit. I woke up the next day puking and shitting black tea leaves. Still love the stuff.
Loved the Imperial War Museum and the British transportation system. You can go anywhere without a car.
My favorite aunt was a British war bride. She said the US Army Air Corps would send a bus to pick up the local girls for dances. It wasn't until years later that she discovered why the bus was referred to as the "pussy wagon" by the girls and the GI's.

To get back to the 'America' thing...

1. I like that it is big enough to not bump into the people you already decided that you dislike!

2. 'Small town' USA can be so friendly to strangers! (well in Colorado anyway!)

3. Seven other things which I am too knackered to write down.

10. The smile you get at manifest on the dropzones...B|

~R+R...>:(...Sean Connery will be the one and only 007 to me...;)B|...

edited to add: My AFF instructor was British...the man cracked me up on radio...made canopy control a riot...

without any sarcasm, i think some bombs in a few rubbish bins is the least of the US's terrorist worries.
But you're spot on about the lack of bins in London - ialthough i have to say for the most part i think London is quite clean these days:)

I have, I've been all over the US in Mexico and in Canada (haven't quite been able to jump the pond yet, though). So far, out of the lower 48 I've been to, Mexico and Canada, I'd much much rather be in Texas.
