Agreed. But that doesn't mean we should let anyone get away with it. We beat people to death, raped prisoners, tortured women and children. And this wasn't just a few incidents - there are dozens of soldiers involved at a minimum. Either they all had a great idea at the same time or there was some coordination of these efforts. No one involved should be allowed to get away with 'covering their ass' on this one.
