Can you imagine women's pommel horse or women's rings events in the Olympics? What about the women's long jump or other events like that? My wife is hotter than your wife. wmw999 2,589 #3 May 17, 2004 Um -- how many men are going to have sexual reassignment surgery so that they can medal in the Olympics? And I have a feeling that any who do, in fact, compete and medal will have little asterisks beside their names, at least for awhile. Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. headoverheels 334 #4 May 17, 2004 " In fact, the IOC was chagrined to learn that three track-and-field champions who competed as females in the pre-World-War-II games eventually underwent reconstructive surgery to remove external, male-like reproductive structures. The IOC also had to retrieve the medals of a Polish sprinter who competed as a female when it learned that she had male reproductive organs. And after World War II (during the Cold-War era), when the former Soviet Union and other Eastern-Bloc countries fielded rather formidable female Olympic teams (both in terms of performance and appearance), the IOC became quite concerned about widespread rumours that at least some of the 'females' on the teams were actually quite male. " Some other XXY's (male with extra x chromosome) could pass as females. I wonder whether they will be allowed to compete?
jessefs 0 #5 May 17, 2004 I think they should have their own olympics, that way, our new dz.com motto can be: "Arguing on the internet is like winning the Transexual Olympics, even if you win, we still don't know if your really a guy or a girl" <* Spread the Love! *>
quade 4 #6 May 18, 2004 Ya know . . .this isn't a completely abstract topic for skydivers. The IPC of the FAI, closely follows most IOC decisions and there is a women's category on some events. lawrocket 3 #8 May 18, 2004 You know, wen, if just one does, then it seems to me that there is an issue. There's a pro golfer who used to be a guy playing on the women's tour. Unfortunately, men have a physical advantage over women - one that surgery and hormone therapy simply cannot totally remove. So, we've got a situation where anabolic steroids and hormones are being abused by athletes. Now we will have a situation where "hormone therapy" could be officially recognized. "I'm a transexual" may be an excuse. Stranger things have happened.. My wife is hotter than your wife.
