Not with SS and the looming grey dawn. That was either a lie or a statement by a very ignorant man. A combination of both I'd say.

Very cute Kallend. Do you REALLY think sKerry is capable of doing better?

Let's see:

deficit - nope. sKerry and his ilk desire a nationalized (socialized) health care program. All those who want such have NO credibility when talking about deficits.

job creation - government jobs perhaps. According to sKerry corporations don't pay their 'fair share' of taxes. Hard to cut corporate profits via tax code revisions and create jobs.

Iraq - do you REALLY want me to quote The Poodle's prior opinions on this issue yet again agreeing with the conservatives several times over?

Yes, and what it should tell you is that I care more about people telling the most objective truth they can than I do about possibly insulting someone who I don't believe made that attempt.

Let's just say I disagree with you and leave it at that.

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

So you KNOW FOR A FACT that Bush is a lying ignoramus, but because you suspect Kerry may be one too, you support Bush.

I have trouble keeping up with your posts sometimes. Is there a special school where you can learn the current RNC propaganda vocabulary? The whole dims, sKerry, etc. terms that you are so adept at using. Do you copy that stuff from Ann coulter, or what? It's especially confusing when you use to accuse others of being partisan tools of a government party. :S

No he didn't, as I was not looking for anything. Kallend spun off a tangent of my response to peacefuljeffrey, in which I enticed him to irk lefties vice offend BillVon and GravityGirl.

The tangent he chose to spin was based upon my assertion that lefties hate to face facts. Vice address my point, which I still maintain, he picked a few random quotes from GWB that were incorrect or outright false to present.

He gave me nothing that I asked for, as I asked for nothing and received something inane instead.

LMFAO. Which one in particular are you having trouble grasping?
:)Oh. I forgot. I make up most of this stuff. I think demoKKKlaner is my favorite, though I don't remember if I've used on here or not. The Poodle and sKerry are Boortz' creations - can't take credit for them, just plagiarize.

You have made a serious error of bashing etiquette! By failing to research the quote, you have accidentally based Bush instead of Kerry! The right-wing propaganda council will be VERY disappointed. You may even have to turn in your hat.

Oh, my hat was taken away long ago, but thanks for thinking of me. I've bashed Bush's second tax cut's structure, letting everyone's favorite Harvard expellee draft the education[sic] bill, the amnesty-for-illegal-immigrants plan, complained about no veto of ANY spending bill to date, called him the least evil of two bad choices, often questioned his Iraqi-centric foreign policy both pre and post-invasion, and done many other things to warrant my expulsion from that group.

I just detest sKerry the Poodle even worse.

With regards to the comment in question, recall the pining of the left with regards to the deficit. I seem to recall 'If Gore were in office and we hadn't cut taxes for the rich we wouldn't have a deficit now!' being a central theme of such pining. Bush's election did nothing to the age demographics of the nation and therefore did not affect the SS/grey dawn induced abyss of a deficit that is going to occur over the next two decades.

I knew the quote was from GWB. And still state it was either a deception (ie. lie) or a remark made out of ignorance.

Bush taking money out of the SS reserves to fund other programs (after he promised he wouldn't during his campaign) most definitely had an effect on the prospects of SS down the road.

Relook at both your statement and the magnitudes of $$ involved and you'll see the reason for my smile.
:)It is impossible to take $ out of SS as SS funds were made part of the general fund under LBJ - thank you demoKKKrats.

And Bush promised to remove it from the general fund and treat is seperately, which hed didn't. Thank you Bush. And I'm not sure what's so funny about the magnitude of $$ involved. Projected surplus = 2.3trillion. Cost of Bush tax cuts = 1.8trillion, then there's his increased spending.

It doesn't annoy me, it amuses me. It's amazing how easily people can be brainwashed with propaganda and sound bites. Usually people don't quote the propaganda verbatim, though.

Have you noticed that you can tell which right wing spinmeister they are parroting from the style of the language? Ann Koulter is noticeably different from Rush, for example.

Dude - chill. BillVon is a nice guy, even if he does delete/edit my posts for reasons known only to himself on occasion. GravityGirl is a cool chick too.

I agree with you on a lot of things, truth be told, but the tenor of your posts in this thread is really combative and offensive. Passively insulting somebody's DZ.com handle just isn't cool.

Apologize to Bill and Bonnie and let's have some fun sending the lefties into convulsions by making them face facts. They should hold their heads in shame for selectively ignoring facts as they do - but that's no reason to purposefully try and hurt somebody's feelings as you seem to be doing.
[:/]

Hey, wait a second. I did not "purposefully try and hurt somebody's feelings." I made a very veiled comment that if someone wants to take issue with the "applicability" of my dz.com handle and throw a veiled insult my way, that the same vulnerability exists about her dz.com handle. I said right off that I felt it was a personal attack she leveled at me. And then I made a point of not saying what mean things I could say about hers.

Anyway, yeah, I unloaded on billvon because what I saw as duplicity in his representation of the article and Inhofe's comments got me agitated. I then said that personal attack was not my intent and we went from there.

It wasn't meant to be an attack. Just an observation.

Your avitar is very serene and peaceful, as is your dz.com handle. Sometimes your words just don't seem to match that image.

I don't pass judgement. There is no right or wrong way to be. I just saw a contradiction. I am very sorry if I offended you.

Now. Which side is right again, and which side is left? I keep forgetting. It's hard to see sides when you look at the whole picture.

No worries.
You're not the first person to challenge me about the "peaceful" part. I'll grant with no reservations that I don't always act or speak "peacefully." It's something to strive for, but I'd never contend that I actually am always achieving it. Call it a neverending struggle.

Also, the name Jeffrey comes from old French, meaning, "Heavenly peace; blessed one." (That was on a bookmark my mom bought for me when I was a teenager.) I liked that meaning, so I use it in my "handle."

The avatar... I was hoping you'd say "hot 'n' sexy" rather than serene and peaceful, but serene and peaceful are pretty much just as good. :)
