We already have enough traffic here in LA, why do this. Did they ever think they might endanger someones life? Disrupt major ways of traffic en masse in a major metropolitan city during peak hours and possible cause major accidents. What would you call that?

It takes the CHP about two hours here to reopen a road after a traffic fatality. After ten people were shot and two fuel tanks were opened up by stray bullets? They'd camp out. There would be fire teams, detectives, shower trailers and donut trucks. The news would be calling it "Road Rage 2004 - The Ongoing Saga."

That's one of the funniest things I've seen you write. My solution was tongue in cheek of course, but in that alternate reality, the CHP would probably just show up with a bunch of hoses and tow trucks. The highway would be open again in 15 minutes...

Well, except that the first CHP guy who tried to stop the one remaining lane of traffic for the tow truck would get shot by someone who is now 4 hours late for a critical meeting, and then they'd have to call in the Apaches.

To think - a year ago today, I likely would have been caught up in it.

Or, I would have taken the 710 north intead of the 5. Instead, I had a 5 minute drive to work on the surface street. Boo hoo.

Also funny is that looking at that picture, it looks just like what happens on the I-5 in Commerce whenever the first rain comes in October. Atruck jackknifes across a couple of lanes blocking a couple of other trucks. Traffic stops.

I guess it was justa drill.

Gotta agree with BillV here.

Never point a gun at somebody you don't have justification to shoot. So, capping somebody for delaying your game seems excessive.

Officer: "Why did you shoot that guy?"

Dude: "Cause my movie started 15 minutes ago!"

I know people were being figurative, but threatening people with guns is not productive. Shooting them, well, that can be, but not over diesel prices.

I just hop up on the sidewalk and go around the traffic. I get nasty looks from drivers, though.
