TheAnvil 0 #1 April 21, 2004 I watched part of Bill O's show this evening for the first time in a while. He slammed a Republican congresswoman in Florida AND took this chick who sued an abortion doctor to town quite handily. Damned left winger. I tell you guys - sometimes FOX puts on such left wing stuff I think it's turning into CNN. Bwwaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaa!!!!!! Fox - both sides. CNN - one side. Kennedy 0 #3 April 21, 2004 What, you're waiting for Clinton's News Network to cover things fairly? They're still working on the definition of "is."witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
billvon 3,120 #4 April 21, 2004 A few days ago I listened to Air America while driving to Perris, where the host of a talk show (Rachel Maddow, I believe) ridiculed a caller that said that Bush knew 9/11 would happen and encouraged it. So I guess you have two unbiased networks by your definition - FOX and Air America. Air America - both sides. Just like FOX!
AggieDave 6 #5 April 21, 2004 I wonder what the guys that fought and flew with the REAL Air America thinks of a liberal radio station using their unit's name...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

My Uncle was with CIA in Thailand during the real "Air America". It's not both sides just because tyou tell someone their conspiracy is beyond ridiculous. You can claim "both sides" when they start bashing Kerry, Clinton, or Kennedy. Until then, they are just not 100% falling of the left side liberal. Just 85% or so. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

You know, above all, I love reasonable people. That's why I don't listen to Rush anymore, or any of a number of these clowns on the radio who have their side, their agenda, and result to smear. I think I'll try picking up that lady's show you mentioned. My wife is hotter than your wife.
billvon 3,120 #11 April 21, 2004 >You can claim "both sides" when they start bashing Kerry, Clinton, or Kennedy. OK, then CNN is surely fair and balanced: WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A man who served in the same Navy unit as Sen. John Kerry denounced on Tuesday charges the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee made as an antiwar protester that he and other U.S. troops committed atrocities in Vietnam. "I saw some war heroes ... John Kerry is not a war hero," said John O'Neill, a Houston lawyer who joined the Navy's Coastal Division 11 two months after the future senator left Vietnam. "He couldn't tie the shoes of some of the people in Coastal Division 11."

It's mostly people just bitching about this and that. (at least for the 15 minutes I listened to it.) No new ideas.
Kennedy 0 #13 April 21, 2004 Quote>You can claim "both sides" when they start bashing Kerry, Clinton, or Kennedy. OK, then CNN is surely fair and balanced: I thought we were discussing talk shows (tv and radio). If you want to discus news outlets as journalistic sources, I have slightly higher criteria. Like reporting the story, the whole story, and nothing but the story, at least every now and then. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
billvon 3,120 #14 April 21, 2004 >Like reporting the story, the whole story, and nothing but the story, >at least every now and then. Then you want NPR. During the whole PDB stink, most news outlets were reporting things like "PDB warned of imminent attack" or "president denies PDB contained warning information." NPR just read the entire PDB on the air.
Kennedy 0 #15 April 22, 2004 I agree that NPR has quality news reporting, but their talk shows generally suck . To clarify (though you know what I mean), I don't need an entire memo, but reporting what BOTH sides are saying and giving the reasons why, would please me a great deal more than just reporting what one or both are saying. Make both cases, and let people decide for themselves. Do what most teachers can't or don't anymore... encourage analytical thought! Just once, though, I would have liked to see/hear a news source reading from the AWB. People would have been running around going "WTF, this is about bayonets? Where is the part about machine guns???" witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
