ChasingBlueSky 0 #1 April 14, 2004 I tend not to believe chain letters - they are usually sent out by people trying to stir up trouble, lie, etc... I want to respond back to the person that sent this to me but do not have the time to research if any of this is true since I will be at work quite late tonight - could someone that has some freetime please look this up? Thanks: Subject: How they vote in UN Below are the actual voting records of various Arabic/Islamic States which are recorded in both the US State Department and United Nations records: Kuwait votes against the United States 67% of the time. FrancoR 0 #2 April 14, 2004 Just a few thoughts Whats the purpose of such a statistic? Trying to find out wich country gives the best value for money concerning votes in the UN? I certainly hope poor countries can't be influenced that easy, but i have seen the opposite in the last year or so. In my opinion the whole thing is very unbalanced, no comparison to donations other countries make, no comparision to how many times allies disagree in the UN. Do a google search and enter the whole sentence in " " you will get a few results, maybe that helps. If it does not cost anything you are the product. ChasingBlueSky 0 #3 April 14, 2004 Exactly - I'm trying to see who put what spin on this and why. There are a lot of details lacking in this email, and I want to let the person who sent it out know the rest of the facts. I posted here in the Corner since I know there are plenty of people here that could get to researching this before I could._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... vmsfreaky1 0 #4 April 15, 2004 All those percentages are probably when these countries also vote against Israel with the same vote.
kmcguffee 0 #5 April 15, 2004 Obviously we can't be accused of trying to buy their vote. "Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do." Ben Franklin

It's time has past. The oil for food CON is the best example to date. Look at how they pulled out of Iraq.
rickjump1 0 #7 April 16, 2004 This didn't start happening overnight. It's been going on for years. The sad thing is they vote against us on issues that are positive and helpful to the rest of the world. The objective of the UN is to see us go down.Do your part for global warming: ban beans and hold all popcorn farts.
TomAiello 26 #8 April 16, 2004 It might be more helpful to look at the votes by issue. I'd guess that the vast majority of those "anti-US" votes were actually anti-Israel votes, where the US and Israel were the only two votes on one side of an issue. I wonder what percentage of total UN resolutions have concerned Israel?-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
PhillyKev 0 #9 April 16, 2004 Probably has nothing to do with the US votiing record. Here are the 14 US vetoes of UN resolutins against Israel. and the 24 US vetoes of security council resolution agains Israel. http://www.us-israel.org/jsource/UN/usvetoes.html
