The article doesn't note any pending action against this 20-year-old head case. So, let's hear it...what's going on in this kid's noodle. The "she's crying out for help" argument, having not been brought up yet, doesn't lend a lot of credence (IMO).

two things struck me when I first read the story. First her picture on CNN looks like shes a little psycho. Second there was a blurb at the end of the article saying she had been knockedout and not robbed a few months earlier. The red flag went up for me immediatly

I have heard speculation that she is seeking attention from someone, possibly a man, either someone she wants or an ex. They have also metioned that she may not be clinically "crazy" but just a "crazy chick." This is all just stuff I have heard on the radio shows around here, but still... it makes sense to me... they said if she were clinically crazy she wouldn't have planned it so much and in such depth. I feel sorry for her family for thinking she was missing and maybe dead, only to find out, "No, she made it up."

When I was in college we had a similar case. A local woman showed up at the police station with some bruises, saying she had been raped by a gang of teen age boys on skateboards.

Turned out she had fallen off her bike, and made the whole thing up.

She sure got lots of attention from local feminist organizations--at least until the truth came out. After that, they were oddly silent about the whole thing.

I'm thinking "cry for attention". It's a case of "I've got no life--what can I do to get attention?"

Just going out and doing something interesting and/or fun would probably work better.

On GMA this morning, there was another woman who faked her abduction when she was in college about 20 years ago. She was also an overachiever, as Audry has been described as. She said she had put so much pressure on herself and she wasn't meeting her goals that something just kind of snapped in her and that was her way to try to run away from everything. She seemed quite normal now and as she was viewing the old tapes she looked embarrassed and said things like, "not my finest hour" and stuff like that. Seems like just a young kid who got overwhelmed and didn't know how to deal with the stress.

She could be looking for attention, or she could have been looking to make some money off of this through book deals and the like.

People who fake abductions, rapes, etc. should be locked up just like the abductor or rapist would be. I'm sick of the response to these incidents being "awe, the poor mixed-up child." screw that. there are too many people who really need help and reach out for it and aren't taken seriously enough because of these asshats.

Well, she did report being abducted to the police, which is a false police report.

Also, why not fine her. If I'm a climber or a snowboarder or a hiker and I get lost, I get to pay for all of the police and rescue that went in to finding me.

Why not make her face the same consequence?

Not only is it falifying a police report, it is obstruction of Justice at the same time. I have no sympathy for this girl or her family.

It is like the kid who cried wolf..... This girl obviously has NO credibility, and the "assault" on her which she reported in February is most likely false as well.

As soon as I heard this story I knew something was a bit strange.

The fact the in Feb she was allegedly hit over the head and knocked out... Dragged one block away behind a building, was not robbed or raped or touched in any way.... and she didn't see the person either.

Seems like daddy didn't pay attention to her when she grew up :-(

The other girl that Skymama mentioned was fined $200 and 50 (or 500) hours of community service. I'm sure Audry Seiler will get someting similar... she darn sure deserves it!

in a few articles ive read, they've mentioned someone saying she just wasnt getting all the attention and glory at her university as she was used to getting in her hometown. for someone unstable, as she most certainly is, that idea makes sense. we'll probably never really know why.what i know is that she wasted nearly 100,000 in taxpayer's dollars because of her little fiasco. i doubt she'll face jail time.

if a small fine and community service is all she gets, im going to be fuming. that just doesnt seem fair to me. if she needs psychiatric attention, fair enough, but i dont feel like that should be in lieu of facing the consequences any other law breaker would have to face.

It not only sux for the cops, but I think 100 people from her home town in MI drove out to WI to search in the woods for her. Don't they feel like assholes now.

One thing I found interesting was the day they found her, the Mom was on tv and was saying how surprized her daughter was that such a bigdeal was made of this and how surprized she was so many people were looking for her.

Right then I was thinking Bullshit! You were abducted for 4 days and all you could think of was the press turnout?????? That seems a bit strang

And think if her police sketch and actually resembled someone? That guy would have been incarcerated.

There are lawsuits that give millions for "pain and suffering" I'll be the first to put my name on the lawsuit for all my emotional distress for worrying about her, (well not really but maybe we can get a few jumps paid for , for therapy)

This is why more and more I am starting to believe Kobe Bryant.

At first I wanted to Kobe go to jail maybe just cuz he is a celeb an we all secretly like to see celebs brought down, but the more I thought about it and what I hear of this chick accusing him... She is a whack job too.

Maybe she just wants attention, or to get a boyfriend jealous, or to get an exboyfriend back.

You can blame this abducted girl for that..... Cry wolf and see what happens. Now everyone will be skeptical the next time someone really goes missing in WI.
