Seeing as that is the case, Bush scares me, but Kerry scares me a lot more. I'll vote for Bush (like my vote will matter in Alabama). I hope he wins, but it's all about those few swing states. Right now I think Bush is ahead (mostly becaues the news-casters are working so hard to make it look like they're neck and neck).witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
freeflying 0 #5 April 6, 2004 I think at the end of the day it will be Bush --as long as the economy and IRAQ get straightened out. Kerry is a joke -- guy has no conviction and flip flops on every issue. And what a BORE

I guess my vote won't matter much anyway. -- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

meltdown 0 #21 April 7, 2004 I'm voting Bush, and I think he'll win. I only agree with him about half the time, but I'll take him over Kerry any day. I think the more people see of Kerry, the less they'll like him.
livendive 8 #22 April 7, 2004 QuoteI don't fear a liberal in the White House, I fear a Democrat in the White House. And Kerry is the ultimate Democrat. LOL - I DO fear an uber-liberal in the White House, and think that a "who is more liberal" contest between Bush and Kerry would result in a dead heat. Given that, it boils down to which forms of liberalism are acceptable to an individual voter and which are not. Personally, I find Kerry's socialized medicine, college tuition vouchers, and affirmative action more palatable than Bush's intertwining of church and state, trampling of the bill of rights, and total disregard for the environment. When forced to pick between the lesser of two evils, personal preference will determine what is meant by "lesser." Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" TomAiello 26 #23 April 7, 2004 QuoteWhen forced to pick between the lesser of two evils, personal preference will determine what is meant by "lesser." Precisely. QuoteI find Kerry's socialized medicine, college tuition vouchers, and affirmative action more palatable than Bush's intertwining of church and state, trampling of the bill of rights, and total disregard for the environment. I definitely find Kerry's socialized medicine the worst on that list (probably because my wife is a doctor, and she still needs to make money to pay back the $200k she spent on getting there). With Kerry's Affirmative Action coming second, just a hair ahead of Bush's Bill of Rights (although, I might be able to field a good argument that Affirmative Action _is_ a trampling of the Bill of Rights). The church and state thing bugs me, but I don't see it really getting too far, so I'm not too concerned about it. Tuition vouchers? That one isn't even on my radar. And the environment? I guess I land closer to Bush than Kerry, so I don't see that as a negative for Bush--more of a negative for Kerry. Ah, what's an atheist Libertarian to do, these days? Perhaps I ought to just go jump off a building.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

You wouldn't have to convince me with that argument, I already agree. The thing is that I feel a lot less affected by affirmative action than I do by the Bush/Ashcroft approach. Of course that's another "lesser" thing. QuoteAh, what's an atheist Libertarian to do, these days? Perhaps I ought to just go jump off a building. Nothing like a little civil disobedience to refresh the perspective eh? The highest building within any reasonable driving distance of me is only 6 stories tall, so I guess I'll have to restrict myself to having a beer while driving home from work.
