nobody can hold a meaningful position in the Muslim faith who does not speak Arabic.

Nobody can hold a meaningful position in the Catholic faith who does not speak Latin......

And you can buy the Koran in English at a book store near you if you want.

I sometimes hope you just are a troll.....

No that just shows your lack of knowledge. I have a New testament bible in German. I have seen them in Spanish, English and only god knows how many other languages. I have been to Catholic mass in four different languages.

Good for you, I am sure I can find an English translation of the koran. Fact remains the official languange of the roman catholic church is Latin, which in your logic would make them all latinos.

Quote

I have never heard that somebody who does not speak fluent Latin can not be a priest

To become a priest in the Roman Catholic church, one requires to have a working knowledge of the Latin language.

Once again, all their scriptures can be found in other languages, but it all traces back to latin.

Yes. I will make my stronghold in Australia, then move out slowly to conquer the world

That's never worked for me as I always got shafted when I went into Asia (that green bit above Australia for the geographically challenged in the Forum note that is not Russia).

Think again, talk to a Muslim and get back to me. You may find a translation. Done typically by other people who are trying to understand what is going through their mind. But a Muslim will tell you first hand that the believe you can never get the meaning unless you speak Arabic. This is not the case in the Catholic religion to suggest it only shows your ignorance. I went to Catholic grammar school. I have yet to take a class in Latin. Dropping a couple of words here an there is not equivalent to a working knowledge. That is just silly.

Let me see what I remember from Latin class...

Vir prudence non contra ventum mingit

(probably spelled wrongly)

That's really interesting. Considering there are numerous english versions produced and distributed by Islamic groups. I'm pretty sure the people in those groups are muslim.

Where do you get this information? It really is amazing that so much fiction comes from you. You should write novels.

Please show me one single example of the Koran translated to english by a non-muslim. Since that is "typically" who does it.

Really. A meaningful position is a priest, a bishop a cardinal? They do not need any Latin?

I am sorry but a few words here and there and a working knowledge are two different things. Try finding a Muslim School that does not have fluent Arabic speaking teachers.

Still waiting for you to back up any one of your outlandish claims with a single source for your information other than yourself.

I don't need to Bill Von proved the most important one of all. Iraq and Al Queda had ties. I could just sit back and let you do some research so that when you come back trying to spin a statement I made, I could just point out my facts from your own research.

What the hell does anything having to do with ties between Iraq and Al Queda have to do with the religion of a translator? :S:S:S:S:S:S:S:S:S:S

that this is where the discussion started before it took all the twists and turns to end up on language.

Actually, this discussion started with you wanting to commit genocide, and us trying to figure out how you justify that. All of the twists and turns are of your own design trying to come up with some legitimate reason for wiping out 2 billion people.

I'll ask again. Post one single reference, besides yourself, for any of the claims that you've made. Doesn't the fact that you can't do that say something to you?

I am a true Latin somebody whose ancestors (spoke Latin, ALL OF MY ANCESTORS).

I bet none of those pesky Moors got in a gene or two...

Me thinks this sort of equates to the Dominican Republic.. The Spanish brought many many Africans there to work the cane fields as slaves...and some of the most African looking people I have seen... with Spanish names... try to distance themselves from ANY form of African descent.

Please dig up that post where I said I wanted to wipe out 2 Billion people. I don't believe you can. You know why? Cause I never said it. That kind of makes it hard to find a reason to respond when you making stupids statements like that. I believe I said to outlaw the faith and that when it got specific I said not to outlaw it but to stop making excuses for it.
Now see how you could spin that.

Nope, not proven. Even GWB admitted that. Or as an English expert in Terorism said in front of the Commons Foreign Affairs Select committee:

Prof Wilkinson dismissed suggestions there was a link between Saddam Hussein's regime and al-Qaeda.
"The story that there was a collaboration between them was dreamed up in Washington," he said.
"I don't know who dreamed it up but I have found no substance to it."

You are just all over the place. Sure you are not a troll?

Sorry, you're right. You just want to ban their religious beliefs, not kill them.

Ok, so I'll ammend my post:

Actually, this discussion started with you wanting to ban Islam, and us trying to figure out how you justify that. All of the twists and turns are of your own design trying to come up with some legitimate reason for supressing the religious beliefs of 2 billion people.

I'll ask again. Post one single reference, besides yourself, for any of the claims that you've made. Doesn't the fact that you can't do that say something to you?

did you miss part of Bill Von's post

Toronto Star:
The U.S.-led war on Iraq gave Al Qaeda the opportunity to reinvigorate its weakened terrorist network with new recruits and more funding, say experts on terrorism.
-----------------------------------------------
Reinvigorating a weakened terrrorist network means there had to be a terrorist network there. But according you there never was. Ok

There were Al Queda groups in Iraq.. in the Northern Kurdish areas... so obviously there were terrorists in Iraq that had ties to Iraq..... There were Numerous Cells... in America... so by that logic.. there are ties to Al Queda to the US as well.....

BUZZZZZZZ.... wrong assumption on both ....
