But according you there never was. Ok Circular logic, once again. We weakened it by routing them out of Afghanistan. We took away their training grounds. Then we REMOVED Hussein, who was NOT letting them set up training ground in Iraq. Thereby providing them with a new place to gather. Where, in that statement that you copied does it say there was a link between Saddam and Al Queda. It says there is a link between US occupied Iraq and Al Queda. Big difference, don't you think? jfields 0 #502 September 11, 2003 Quotedid you miss part of Bill Von's post Toronto Star: The U.S.-led war on Iraq gave Al Qaeda the opportunity to reinvigorate its weakened terrorist network with new recruits and more funding, say experts on terrorism. ----------------------------------------------- Reinvigorating a weakened terrrorist network means there had to be a terrorist network there. But according you there never was. Ok You are misunderstanding what he said, and what the facts are. There are no proven direct ties between Al Qaeda and Iraq. If you disagree, show us the evidence. The indirect tie is the United States. We have attacked both entities for various reasons. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" is not a logically-proven fact. Plenty of examples counter it. But according you there never was. Ok Once again, your logic makes no sense whatsoever. it could also be taken that the US led invasion of Iraq has taken the focus off Al Qaeda so they are able to reinvigorate their terrorist network. THat doesn't mean there were ties between Iraq and Al Qaeda. Or it could mean that AL Qaeda might now be operating in Iraq. But that still doesn't prove there were ties prior to that invasion or during the planning and excecution of 9/11. But once again, I don't think your brain can handle those other options. Further, it is not possible for someone to become a priest in the roman catholic church without a working knowledge of Latin. QuoteThink again, talk to a Muslim and get back to me. I will copy and paste it for you. ========================== Both of these have been quite widely reported in both US and international news sources, both left and right leaning... I was watching one of the NBC outlets the other night and they cited somewhere around 100 foiled plots against US interests in Europe... It has also been reported for years that Sadam sent $$$ to the families of palistinian suicide bombers. ================================= ------------------------------------------ apparently you didn't read this response to your post.. But according you there never was. Ok ??????? Yes Al Qaeda's network is damaged and they use the war in Iraq to recruit people pissed off with the Americans. And your point is? Does not say the network is in Iraq, the network is all over the world including the US. The war in Iraq in many people's opinion actually might help them, but that does not prove any ties prior to the war between Saddam and Osama. From the same source: “The Iraq war was a setback to the ongoing battle against terrorism because it diverted intelligence resources and provided a boost to al-Qaeda's recruitment, a terror expert has told MPs. Professor Paul Wilkinson of St Andrews University also raised the prospect of a nuclear terror attack in evidence to the Commons Foreign Affairs Select committee. He said most counter-terrorism experts accepted there was a "significant downside" to the Iraq war and he suggested there still might be terror attacks avenging the conflict. Prof Wilkinson told the committee: "All of us breathed a great sigh of relief at the fall of the brutal Saddam regime. "[But] most observers on counter-terrorism would accept there was a very significant down-side to the war in Iraq as far as counter-terrorism was concerned." I am sure he started learning it the second he became involved with that. I know that because I know Palestinian Muslims who have said so. That Arabic is a language that revolves around religion. That the Koran looses all its meaning if its not in Arabic. That is the difference between me and you. You are just a happy liberal who truly knows nothing about what he is talking about. QuoteThough that may make you feel good about yourself in the end you are left with a serious lack of knowledge. My lack of knowledge, now that is funny. So, which continent is Russia on? Are indonesians arab or asian? Did Al Qaeda have ties with Saddam Hussain prior to September 11th, 2001? Did Mohamed Ali speak Arabic? Can I find a translation of the Koran? Can one become a priest in the Roman Catholic church without understanding Latin? Please provide proof of your superior knowledge and asnwer these question. However, you will have to provide proof that your knowledge is correct and hence you will have to be able to back up your statements. This back up should contain more than just the statement: "because I said so". The ball is in your corner Steel, show us your superior knowledge!
