Re: 5-cell Swift vs 7-cell Swift 175

Disregarding the brake set-up and the 5 vs 7 cells, what differences are there in these canopies?

Which leaves us with:

1. Airfoil

2. Planform

I understood that Para-Flite used the 7808 Lissaman airfoil in just about everything that they made back then.

I have always wondered about this having used both 5-cell & 7-cell 175 Swifts in emergency situations.

Look at them side by each and you'll see huge differences in construction. So much so that you hardly know the same company made them. Swift Plus is much stronger looking with spanwise construction and lots of tapes. Lines are of different materials. It's almost like a complete generation of difference.

But I would like to hear what accumack remembers about this.
