Danhole 0 #1 March 5, 2001 Does anyone know a jumpsuit manufacture that makes "patch" jumpsuits? I've been looking around the web and no one seems to make them. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Danhole
Deleted 0 #2 March 5, 2001 I know Tony Suits makes the patch pants, so if you ask them real nice, they might make a suit for you. Also, there is a couple, I think they are based in Hawaii, that make custom jumpsuits. Do a search on the links on this page and you'll probably find them. Dutchboy 0 #3 March 5, 2001 I think you are refering to DaKine Rags. I've seen some of their suits at the DZ and they looked awesome. Course, maybe it was the hot females wearing them that made them look so good.
catscan 0 #4 March 5, 2001 Actually, I was wrong about the location of the particular jumpsuit maker. Their website is www.freedommeanschoice.com. They have a picture of someone in one of their suits over Hawaii, that's where I got the location. They are actually based in TX. I think they sell for about $190 a suit, which makes me seriously consider them over a $395.00 Tony Suit...Just my opinion, hope this helps...

Yes, they make freefly suits (only I think) and you are right about the $190. That was a big reason that I bought mine from them. I have been very happy with the suit. The service was good and fast. Suit fits great. Not bad for half the price of a Tony Suit.
Pammi 0 #6 March 5, 2001 Gotcha Covered I have to recommend this company also. The gal who makes the suits is a rigger at our DZ and we jump with her husband who did one of my vids this weekend. They are awesome and have great suits! Merrick and I just ordered two of them, and I'm really excited about it. She's fast and can make anything at all you want. Freefly, RW, even grippers on a tighter freefly sort-of suit. They are customizing ours to try to even out me and Merrick's fall-rate because I tend to fall very slowly..even her husband was having a time keeping with me in a winged suit (that they also made..it's kick a$$). One of the things they are adding is 'swoop cords' for Merrick's that he can use, or not, to pull a much smaller 'wing' out making him fall a bit slower. Anyway, I just had to recommend them because they really are good to their customers and can help you find exactly what you need, from design to the kind of material. And they are fast! We'll have ours in about 10-14 days she predicts. Check out their site and give 'em a call. their names are Shawn and Kris.Blues,Pam
AggieDave 6 #7 March 5, 2001 Pammi, you jump at SDD? I'm headed up there this coming weekend (going home for spring break and SDD is about 20 minutes from my parent's house).AggieDave '02-------------Blue Skies and Gig'em Ags!BTHO t.u.
Deleted 0 #8 March 5, 2001 There is also an EXCELLENT suit maker in NZ who will make you what ever you want for a suit. I have a RW suit and have gotten raves about it since I have moved here. I have seen his freefly suits and they are "shit hot!" He is a professional jumper himself (out of Christchurch) and if you have an idea, or particular colours he will match them perfectly. The biggest draw to buying one of his suits is that the US to NZ dollar is so high right now. 1$us to 2.4$NZ. He usually charges in the neighbourhood of 350$NZ for a suit, but with the exchange rate that beats ANYTHING on the market. And his logo is quite cool as well.Anyone intersted can contact him by email. His name is Billy "the Flying Maori" Thompson. His email is "flyingmaori@yahoo.com" He can fill you in on the time, but I got mine in a month, yours could be faster!Tell him Blaine sent you.Arohanui,BNZPF A-2584
Pammi 0 #9 March 5, 2001 No, 'fraid not Aggie :( I jump at the other one he lists in Cushing, Ok, about a half hour from where he lives. He jumps everywhere I think! However, I am intending on coming to Dallas at least once this summer. There is a group from our DZ that are going to be going once a month so as soon as I get licensed, I'm on my way! I've heard a lot of great things about them down there and am anxious to try something different. "Home" will always be OSC though. Pammi
freaksister 0 #10 March 6, 2001 yeah, Pammi and Merrick promise me that they will try to make it to SDD at least once this summer! too bad they can't make it out this weekend though since its Safety Day. just bring the kids and come on...Speaking of jumpsuits, I would also recommend Freedom Means Choice. Karen makes those freefly suits and she and her sweetie Greg are too damn cool! She really gives a lot of options and high quality for the price, which I think is very reasonable. You even get to choose the "phatness." She will do anything you want on your suit, I am sure she could come up with a patch design. I have seen a LOT of her suits. They are at Skydive Dallas now, but I met them in Colorado, where like all the freeflyers at the dz wear her suits! She made one for Bwilling and put grippers on it at his request.good luck, sis
