Albatross 0 #1 April 7, 2001 I was thinking that unfortunately we spend a lot of time remembering friends we have lost or dealing with the feelings. We should have an event like Memorial day to remember those who have died doing what they love and living on the edge. We could all get together on the first weekend in July and have a nation wide moment of silence followed by formations at each DZ at the same time say 12:00pm PST. I think that all our loved ones deserve a moment to be remebered.Blue Skys and Safe LandingsAlbatross
wingnut 0 #2 April 7, 2001 sounds like a plan. why not do it on the normal memorial day? most dz's have a big boogie over that weekend anyways.<>
Iflyme 0 #3 April 7, 2001 Hey, Albatross - remember - this forum has no international borders... let's make it "world-wide" and include the skydivers living outside your country. I like the idea, although I have never know anyone who went in... but it would be appropriate to remember ALL skydivers who have gone before us. diverdriver 7 #4 April 7, 2001 As the grandson of a veteran from WWII I would like to see this day on something other than Memorial Day. Memorial Day is reserved for fallen Veterans. It's a good idea to remember our friends in a special way. I just believe it should be another day. I suggest Sunday, the day before Memorial Day maybe. Yes, a lot of people will already be out at the DZ usually. It's a good idea.Chris
