sigh...

Recommended Posts

So I send my kid off to some friends 300 miles away for spring break. They're out branding cattle (the friends own a ranch) and one of the stupid cows falls the wrong way... right onto my kid's leg.
Turns out he broke the little bone (tib? fib? He told me but I'm too stressed out to remember) in his right leg. Temporary cast for now, real cast later this week. Worst part of the whole thing? We have no medical insurance for him. Sigh. There goes my new rig...
pull and flare,
lisa

lisa,
im sorry to hear that you kid broke his leg.
there should be a system set up @ this hospital for people w/out insurance who are single parents. You should really check out the hospitals web site if they have one. If they dont, find the # and call them! There are programs out there to help people w/out insurance.

Ah that sucks Lisa :( I'm sorry to hear he got hurt! Definately check into some programs tho...as a former state worker, I know they have a lot of assistance to offer single parents in particular with no/too expensive insurance available to them ... particularly for kids. There are usually several 'levels' also...even people with moderate income can get help because they want kids to have insurance. They also will go back 3 months (at least in Kansas) on doctor bills from when you actually get approved. Give it a shot!
