SkySlut 0 #2 April 12, 2001 I highly suggest that you get video...because I dont really remember my first jump. Sensory overload...Big Time!!! Plus its cool to have the jump on video so you can see the look on your face for your first jump...because there will be more to come. Have fun!-Slut"I'll jump anything!" FallnAngel 0 #3 April 12, 2001 Good luck Anthony! You're going to have a really great time!! P.S.SkySlut's right on the sensory overload & the video...my brain got left behind in the plane on my first jump (tandem). It would have been really funny to see the "oh_my_god!" look on my face all the way down. And when my TM deployed, we got pulled upright, but my arms stayed in the position they were in while we were in freefall! lol Sure wish I'd gotten it filmed! Greg 0 #6 April 12, 2001 Good luck Anthony!!! Go for the video, I did and now I can put it in the ole VCR and get a pretty good laugh!! And the sensory overload thing is not s*%t, it took a few weeks, and many rewinds of the video to get the memory back, it was like ready.....set......duuuuuuuuuuuuh, and I sorta came to looking at the camera flier (Mike McGowan BTW) smiling at me, it was sooooo coool!!Blue ones!!Greg A-37958
SpeedRacer 1 #7 April 12, 2001 My very first jump was AFF1, and when I left the plane I couldn't think at all for the first four seconds or so...I was just thinking OGOD OGOD OGOD!!! And it was weird, I couldn't see anything, I could only see passing bands of light and darkness filling my vision one right after the other... until after a few seconds I settled out and found myself lying belly down in the sky with my jumpmasters on either side of me. I immediately got busy with the Circles of Awareness & Practice Ripcord Touches and I was OK after that. But those first few seconds were definitely a mind altering experience. Dirtsucks 0 #8 April 13, 2001 Hey Anthony, you’re going to love it! That sensory overload thing is pretty intense. Just some advice – make sure you’re goggles are tight! Josh
Albatross 0 #9 April 13, 2001 I am going with the rest of my comrads get the video. I can remeber diving out at 12,500 seeing the wing and then being at 11,000 (thats like 7-10 seconds). I have slowly remembered most of my first jump but that time is gone forever. Listen to the FJC instructor and your JMs like your life depends on it. You are the one in charge but they will make sure that you are safe.Blue Skys and Safe LandingsAlbatross
