so im out at the dz on monday, screwing around, packing a few rigs, just for practice and this guy from the dz comes over that ive never actually talked to before... starts giving me advice. Soon he brings me out another rig. Brand new, never been jumped, 260 ft. (something) Zero P canopy. It took a bit of huffing and puffing but i packed that baby something sweet. So then this guy says that he wants to talk to me before i leave... Long story short, he offered me a job packing this summer :) whoo heee.!
I stop by the dz today to work something out w/ him, cause i still got a lot to learn and i wanted to tell him that i officially take the job, cause he had given me a couple of days to think it over. (like i needed time to decide?!?) so were sitting there , discussing the whole packing job, and Skeff walks up "kel, can you work the video room this weeked?" well hell yeah i can skeff! hehe.
"wheres kelly?"
"i think shes working in the video room?"
"nope, not today..."
"Maybe shes packing? wait, shes not packing today either."
"oh! shes manifesting today! i remember!"
hehehehehehehe. 3 jobs, one dropzone. im in my friggin glory :)

ROFLMAO! You can have it Kel girl! I've seen Merrick try to pack a student rig (F111!) and no way I want to do that full-time! I'll starve myself and not eat all summer if necessary to pay for my jumps if it came to that rather then pack. You're awesome!

hey! i still like packing. Just something about getting it done, standing back and looking at the rig, all ready to be jumped. And then when my friends land, after ive packed their rig, seeing that they had an awesome time and no problems is a nice feeling. Im sure it will wear off though. lol
at least i wont worry when i jump my first pack job, The man upstairs knows that ive had enough 'guine pigs' jumping my pack jobs already :) THanks stac, brandon, mike, sarah, jim,jerry,rick, ellen, bagel (sorry we never told you my very first pack job was w/ your rig. hehe. I was heavily supervised!) etc etc.

I am having pretty much the same deal...I got a 100 jump credit on my DZ account, a completely new rig, and a trailer at the DZ...Everything else could fall apart around me and I would still be all set for at least a while until the jumps run out...hehehehehe! Oh, I also have 2 offers for a slot on a 4 way team. Yippeee!!!

Nah! I havent totally cut away yet...although I am planning on it, I just need to get the skills to work at a DZ. I am planning on getting my Static Line JM rating this summer. I am doing a bit of research on how to become a rigger too (reading, talking to our rigger, etc.) while I am gaining enough experience to become an AFF JM. I thought about flying camera, but I think that I am going to hold off a bit because of the incidents that we have had this season. I want to learn a bit more on that before I strap a camera on my bucket. Right now I am still working in the real world...it pays for my jumps. I am plannin on making my addiction work for me rather than working for my addiction soon enough though...
Remember that add on tv a long time ago for the peace corps or something? The saying was "How do I get experience without a job and how do I get a job without experience?" Kinda reminds me of that.
