Yooper 0 #1 April 20, 2001 Hi everyone,I just got myself a job at Skydive Twin Cites packing chutes for the summer. This will be the first time that I'll have to live in a tent for a few months. Also, I have never even been to STC. If anyone has been there and has any comments to share about the dropzone or any advice on living at a dropzone all summer it would be well appreciated. Thanks.Mizhakwit,Chad
Dirtsucks 0 #2 April 20, 2001 Hey Yooper, I went through AFF lev. 3 at STC 2 summers ago. In my opinion it was a cool DZ, but it’s also the only DZ I’ve ever been at, so I guess that doesn’t really mean too much. My primary JM was Mark, he was great, despite my stupidity . Attempted level 4 four times then had brain problems (but I’m feeling MUCH better now! ) Also jumped with Miles (10,000+ jumps, holy crap!), and John, one of the owners, who witnessed my pathetic begging to not jump anymore, and ride the plane back down, on what would have been AFF 4, 5th try. Anyway, like I said, it’s the only DZ I’ve been too, but they were a cool bunch, and I can’t wait to go back. I’ll be out there (I hope to God) pretty soon, I’ll probably see ya there. As far as you living at the DZ full time is concerned, the thought “YOU SUCK!!” comes to mind (out of pure jealousy, of course ). Sorry I couldn’t give you any “real” advice, but I just thought it was cool to hear from somebody that was gonna be in my neck of the woods. When are you gonna come out there? I hope to be there within a month or two, to restart AFF. I hope you’re a good packer, cause you’ll probably be packin one of mine! See ya.Josh

Yooper 0 #7 April 20, 2001 Brandon,Just make sure that you bring your camera. I'll take care of the rest.mattb,When I called them, they said that opening day was May first. But, I wouldn't be suprised if they threw up a few lifts before that. Mizhakwit,Chad

mountainman 0 #9 April 20, 2001 QuoteJust make sure that you bring your camera. I'll take care of the rest. All you have to figure out is if you want the video from the bridge or the ground. That is going to be awesome! I am stoked!!!blu skyzNEW AND IMPROVED!!!http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/
Yooper 0 #10 April 20, 2001 Brandon,That's gonna be a tough one to decide, but I think that I'd like video from the bridge. Unless your camera can zoom 800ft away to catch my backflips from the ground. Mizhakwit,Chad
mountainman 0 #11 April 20, 2001 I'll be using a new JVC mini-DV with like 350X digital zoom. It is up to you. I filled the screen with a plane on jumprun at 13000', so yeah, it can zoom damn far. I'll check out what it looks like with something on the groud and see how it looks before we decide. It is sweet though and I'll keep you updated:) Later dude...NEW AND IMPROVED!!!http://home.woh.rr.com/brandonandlaura/
