pyke 0 #1 April 23, 2001 I am going through the DZ lists and I can't find Quincy. Doesn't it exist? Or is it another name, but Quincy to everyone else. I was told it is near Chicago, but haven't found it in WI, MI, MO, IL, or OH.I know I am new to the country, and not that new to the sport, but where is this place??? Head 0 #3 April 23, 2001 Pyke,I doubt that you'll find Quincy in the dz listings. There is only jumping at that airport (that I know of) once a year during the World Freefall Convention. Also, it is in Illinois and is not a very big town. Your best bet would be to look it up on a geographical map website. froggie 0 #4 April 23, 2001 pyke,head is absolutely right. Quincy is not based out of any dropzone. It is near Chicago and occurs only once a year. I believe the dates this year are from August 3 through August 13th... I could be wrong on the exact dates, but I know that it is 10 days long. Quicy is held at a small airport. From what I was told, an entire dropzone is created.. Tents are set up, there are seperate spots for campers/RV's, tents, parking lots for vehicals. An entire tent the size of 2 football fields just for demo gear stands and other buisnesses... A few different landing zones, lots of different aircraft.. From the stories that I was told, I can only imagine that its like an entire skydiving town is created on massive amounts of ground..
