PalmettoTiger 1 #1 May 1, 2001 I don't know how many of you have been following the story about Mr. Tito, the millionaire who paid the Russians about $20 million for a ride to the International Space Station. If you read some of his quotes about being in space, you could substitute "skydiving" for "space" and it would sound just like a giddy first jump story... if only we could get the media to cover skydiving like this, rather than focussing on fatality reports!!Examples: Quote Dennis Tito ... said Tuesday that his time in space has been “like having a different life in a different world.” See? Just change "time in space" to "time in freefall" and it would work!QuoteTito said that one does not have to be superhuman to adapt to space. He said it was unfortunate that a private citizen had to pay so much to make the trip, but he encouraged others who have the means to do so.Asked if his trip to the space station was worth the steep price he paid (reportedly as high as $20 million), Tito said, “Absolutely.”Tito was all smiles Monday as he floated into International Space Station Alpha and proclaimed, “I love space.” Come to think of it, he technically IS in freefall. He just doesn't have to worry about his pins snagging on the door or all that other stuff I slept through in the FJC. Blues, squares,PTiger
