What a weekend!

Recommended Posts

Oh what a fabulous weekend!! 6 jumps total, and all of them were just kick-ass! Even got a free one from the DZ owner, Mike, for Mom's day...what a sweetie! Let's see...first two way that wasn't a coach dive for practice Saturday, then jumped my new canopy Sunday for the 'first' time and loved it! Went back up immediately with my other rig (the Tri 160 - that's way cool having two rigs for a short time to be able to jump! hehe) and did a four-way with Merrick, Larry (another great guy at our DZ) and Bob Clark, an absolutely amazing skydiver. Was very nervous and honored to have him in my first four-way (oohh..did I say 'first' again?) Kinda went to hell, but it was fun anyway and a very learning experience! Jumped with the Freaksis for the 'first' time on the next jump then did another four-way and got my 'first' kiss pass with Merrick!! (Oh, there I go again with the firsts!). I can even stand up my landings on the new canopy!! And know what else...I swooped it a little too!! It was amazing and so much fun!!
What a great weekend :)) Just had to share!
Blue ones!!

Hi Pammi,
It's probably better to get a lot of "firsts" out of the way during one weekend...you can only buy the beers once...:D. So you like the Sabre then? I'm just getting used to a Sabre 150 at the moment and the fast landings often end with me landing on my butt. I very much wish I owned my own rig but I'm just a poor student with no job lined up for when I finish in two weeks! Oh, and I didn't realise until after my first coaching jump that there was an unofficial tradition that on your first jump with a man they are allowed to kiss you...otherwise I would have been ready with a slap.:)As you might have read, I had a great weekend too...

ROFL - Yeah, talk about jealousy w/the two rigs... AND, of course I get to catch a bunch of shit from the guys at the DZ... "So, Merrick.. how many rigs do you have..... and how many does Pam have?!?!" Argh, KMA!!! lol
I had a pretty great weekend myself.... aside from the kiss pass, which Pam kicked ass on that jump, I got my Falcon Award Saturday night with a group of skydivers that just moved out here from AZ. It was an incredible jump, we turned 6 rather difficult (well, for me anyway) points... (7 if you count the exit), and it was a beautiful sunset dive with a little bit of haze! :)Pam didn't mention that I almost f**ked up the kiss pass. one of the two other people slid out on our 4-way on the first point (she had a goggle issue), this is when I was supposed to kiss Pam, but was so worried about the other chick getting back to the formation that I almost forgot about the kiss :$, That's OK tho, cuz Pam gave me a 'loving' shake just as a reminder! ;) so we got our kiss pass! We've been waiting for that jump for about a year... After we got down, Pam said I wasn't adequately excited for finally getting to do what we've wanted to do since we started jumping! lol Next time I'll just tongue you all the way to the ground smart-ass! LOL It was a blast baby! ;)

Well, I hope not *all* the way to the ground baby! LOL!
Skreamer, as you can see, I barely got my damn kiss, besides getting anything else! But I'm woman enough to take what I want if it's not being openly given, so I took my kiss anyway! Hehe!
Joolee...I'm loving my Sabre 135! I have to admit, I was very nervous, as was some of the others at the DZ I think, about my flying such a small thing even tho I really am only loading it 1.2 to 1, pretty normal. But I have to say I absolutely loved it! I love my Triathlon too, but when I got it I was skeptical I would actually lose any weight, which I did some, then I bought something kinda big because I knew my landings sucked and didn't want to hurt myself too bad but ended up almost underloading it! And it just flies differently then the Sabre...not bad at all, I still will jump it sometimes I imagine until it's sold, but I prefer my little Sabre now (except at packing time...that Triathlon is WAY easier to pack!!)
Thanks Diva :) I truly am very very lucky and blessed to have a skydiving man like Merrick who's so good to me. I musta done something really good in a past life :)

I was so excited for Pammi and Merrick on their kiss pass! I have never experienced one so that will be pretty fun. I never heard you are supposed to kiss the first man you jump with, that would have been a long time ago since most JMs are men!! LOL
We always have a blast don't we guys?! That is just a cool dropzone!!

ROFLMAO @ Skreamer! I wouldn't hold my breath on that! hehe!
Yeah, I'm not quite as nice to the Sabre as I was my Tri...cursing it and threatening it. But I told it I was sorry and blew a 'zerbert' on her to make her happy while I was squishing out the air. She seemed to like it, went right into the bag after that! LOL!
I LOVE when you come up Sis! It's a blast! I'm glad we got to jump together finally! We gotta get a three-way now with Merrick! (Think Merrick can track away from both of us in our circle tracks? Hehe!) Nah, they love when you come up...as you can tell by all the shit they give you about the accent. LOL!

LOL!! Hey Pammi, I don't track in circles anymore!! hehe :D!! I worked on tracking the last four jumps I have done and all of them I maintained a heading. Dean said I even got some really good speed on my track yesterday...now if I would just be more aggressive in RW like that!! hehe
Oh yeah, instead of looking over your shoulder for traffic while you are tracking, try looking down between your legs. I haven't tried it yet but I was told it works. I will try it this weekend and let you know!
Love ya!!

Thanks Kris :) It's definately been a LONG progression, but thank heavens for Merrick and you guys at the DZ!! Without you guys spending so much time with me, and giving me the moral support I so desparately needed I would've ended up giving up long ago. Thanks so much Kris. You are such a wonderful person *hugs*
:P Yeah Sis, since you get to jump all weekend and I get to go 'play' with the ex in court this Friday! What a waste of a perfectly good weekend! LOL!!
Between your legs?? How do you know if someone's above you then?
Love ya too hun!

Thanks Kris, you know we wouldn't still be around there if everyone wasn't so damn cool. Seriously, everyone's been so helpful & taught us so much that I really couldn't imagine calling anywhere else our home! I used to hear stories of how hard it was to get anybody to jump with you after you get off student status, I have been very very fortunate not to have had to deal with that, and I see the same pattern starting with Pam too, now that she's starting to jump with other people! Thanks Kris, and anyone else from OSC that may be lurking.
And April, girl... you know we luv ya! It really is pretty damn fun when you come up.... I'm just glad you actually got to jump some this time! :)"Grab the grass, it's the bounce that kills!"
