freaksister 0 #1 June 3, 2001 What a boring ass day! It is too windy to jump so I haven't even gone to the dz, looks like it might storm later, I am out of beer, it is Sunday...and no one is online because they are apparently all the dz jumping their happy little asses off! Even Cyberskydiver is offline, that means the weather in Georgia is good...not that I have bothered to look at the weather across the rest of the country 'cause I don't want to get pissed off. LOLI just feel like bitching. No sex, no beer, no skydiving, my GOD what has my life come to? No job, either. No money! Hmm...I think I better go buy a paper and look for work. That should take a couple of hours. skreamer 1 #2 June 3, 2001 If it makes you feel any better Sis, my weekend was rained out, but I did manage to spend all my jumping money. 10 of us did a pub crawl of Nottingham - highlights were setting our table-top on fire (with left-over dregs of sambuca) and seeing how high we could stack empty bottles and glasses (till that came to its predictable sad demise). Amazing thing was we never once got hassled by bouncers and the end of the night the bar-man came to say "thank you for being so cool" to us. (he was butt-licking because he recognized one of the tandem masters)I had fun, but still I would rather have been jumping.../s
PalmettoTiger 1 #3 June 3, 2001 QuoteI just feel like bitching. No sex, no beer, no skydiving, my GOD what has my life come to? Get a life!!!! nah, you know I'm just pushing your buttons. I'm not online because I've been merrily mowing the lawn. DZ and new rig will have to wait until next weekend. Just remember folks, somewhere out there, there is someone more pathetic than you. Some of us may have to search harder to find that person, but still... Blues, squares,PTiger*insert witty sig here*
FallinWoman 1 #4 June 3, 2001 Hey Sis,If it makes you feel any better, I drove to the dropzone yesterday and sat around watching the winds gust to 40mph. wingnut 0 #6 June 3, 2001 don't worry sis,my weekend has been very un eventfull, well beside trying to get winzip to you last night, i went to bed about 8am this morning and slept untill 5pm. when i looked outside the weather was nasty, when i woke up nothing but blue skies and puffy whites, oh well the dz was supposed to be out of a plane this weekend anyways. and now i have to go into work tonight to start an "exercise" first few days are gona be okay besides the 12 hour shifts, only think is that after those first couple of days we get to wear our gas masks and that is deffinatly going to suck...suck rubber that is........but even with a gas mask on i can still check the forums, hopefully i'll be out of it for happy hour though, if not i'll be typing pretty funny with my gloves and chemical suit on......"if dreams are like movies, then memories are like films about ghosts"-counting crows
freaksister 0 #7 June 3, 2001 Thanks, ya'll!! You make me feel better! I should know that at any given moment there are countless other jumpers out there who can't jump for whatever reason. :)Showers...I didn't think about those. Hell I may need five or six today. Darkzone 0 #8 June 3, 2001 Hey Skreamer,Go on, dig the dirt. Which of the Tandem Masters was it. Initials will suffice. (My reckoning it was either DM or CMc) ;-) Wish I'd been there. I got Lisa to push me to the bar on Al's wheels at the first pub. I bashed into this girl, she gave me some smart comment, I just jumped up and shouted "I'm cured, kiss me!".Actually, you know what? I had a pretty frickin' great weekend! Dude, you must come along next time!/sPS have we met at Langar? Next time you or your evil twin are there we must have some beers.PPS remind me to tell you about the drinking game we invented...
Darkzone 0 #10 June 3, 2001 Hey Skreamer,Quote Well I won't give you his initials, but he is known to shout "BRILLIANT!!!" on the odd occassion...Hmmm, can't think who that might be.I don't know if we have met. My recent visits have been pretty spurious and ill timed as quite often I seem to be the only person there (apart from the staff!!) I drive a metallic brown Fiat Brava and wear a red, yellow, blue and black Symbi. and a red Gath with a picture of Jake from the Tweenies on it (is that guy cool or what!?) If ya see me there (I'll be the one desperatly trying to look like he knows what he's supposed to be doing, but failing dismally) give me a kick and I'll buy you a beer!!Whooooohooooo!!! Hahahaha!!! mbolism 0 #14 June 4, 2001 Let me tell you about horrible weather. Today was the 1 year anniversary of my first jump. I have my own rig, a non-whuffo wonderful boyfriend who I happened to meet at the dz the day of my first jump (so it's also our 1 year anniversary...) and I've been working my butt off for the last three weeks at a thankless job. I took a three day weekend to celebrate all the wonderful things in my life, jumping, my boyfriend, and jumping! And thanks to Michigan weather, the past three days have been the rainiest, windiest, coldest crappy days in at least the past month. So, my three days that I had planned to do nothing except jump and drink beer and sleep in then jump more were completely ruined. Do you hear the violins playing??? The worst part is that I'm going to have to work for the next six days straight so no matter how wonderful it is outside, I'll be stuck at work. Well, stay tuned because when I finally get to have my 1 year jump (belated) party, it's gonna' be a big one!!! All are invited if you can make it to Tecumseh, Michigan. Date to follow whenever the weather cooperates and I'm not stuck at work!!!!
froggie 0 #15 June 4, 2001 sis, this should amuse you...so its saturday night. we set the alarm for 6:45 am so that we can be at the dz by 7:30 (theres three of us trying to get to work at the same time~shower scheduals and all..)so sunday morning comes early as hell. the alarm goes off, i roll over and peek out the window. Its pouring rain. So i mumble something about "crap weather" and get a "huh? more sleep then" response. I wake up at 7:30 when im supposed to be clocking into work. I peek out the window again and the skys are bright blue, not a cloud to be seen. After a few "OH SHIT!'s" im out of bed, rushing around, trying to get the other 2 ready to leave. !0 minutes later were out the door. Im racing to the dz and i realize that Im so low on gas that its beyond the orange line, and the "check gages" light is on. A few minutes at the gas station and that little annoying light is off. I'm cursing like crazy, just awaiting the usual "kelly youre late to work again. this is your boss, get here now" message on the voice mail. I get to work and hes not there. Not to many people are there. Turns out a lot of us woke up at 6:45, saw the pouring rain, and rolled over and went back to bed. This was just the start of a bad day at work for a lot of us... A long 9 hours later and i was finally clocked out and able to sleep a little before waking up to run around with my pants down around my ankles thru the landing area.... (that story later :)feel better?kel
