Emma 0 #1 June 7, 2001 Jessica and I want to know why there aren't any gay skydivers. Are there any? Helloooooo????? Anyone out there like same-sex sex?Come on everyone, out of the closet!I know the lovely BenW has a purple pimp suit for relly work...likes to give his skydiving partners something purple and pretty to grab on to in the air ...Does this tell us anything, I wonder? Not very hetero is it?Unburthen thyselves gay sky-brethren!Emma(not a lesbian, not that there's anything wrong with being a lesbian...I'm just not one....or is sexuality just a sliding scale? Hmmm...rant rant rant...)
Merrick 0 #2 June 7, 2001 First off, let me start by saying that I'm 100% tried & true Lesbian.... I enjoy the occasional "rug rat" or "carpet muncher' comment! Second, What the HELL is wrong with purple jumpsuits!?? This came up in the pub last night too, I know a LOT of guys that jump purple jumpsuits.... Now, hot pink & skyblue I might worry about, but purple kicks ass! "Grab the grass, it's the bounce that kills!"Merrick
Emma 0 #3 June 7, 2001 It's purple helmets that really fascinate though.....Emma
RemiAndKaren 0 #4 June 7, 2001 Right on Merrick!I agree with both your comment: I too am a lesbian trapped in a man's body! And on the purple thing: purple does kick ass!!!!!

JeffGordon 0 #9 June 7, 2001 After all is said, how many straight guys can actually say they have done a horny gorilla?
RemiAndKaren 0 #10 June 7, 2001 The question should be: how many straight guys are "skydiver enough" to say to their friends they did a horny g?
skybytch 273 #11 June 7, 2001 There are gay skydivers. I've jumped with a couple of male ones. Not only are they great fun to jump with, they're even more fun to guy watch with! pull and flare, lisa
Jessica 0 #12 June 7, 2001 Okay, I think I figured something out!I'm getting the feeling that male homosexuality is considered a joke, something to be made fun of. A common attitude, but sort of gay-hostile, no?So perhaps, Emma, it makes about as much sense for us to be asking why there are so few gay skydivers as it would for us to ask why there are so few gay professional football players, you know?Food fer thought. SpeedRacer 1 #16 June 7, 2001 jessica,Actually, I'd heard there was a fair number of gay pro football players.Don't know about gay skydivers, but I'm not exactly going around the DZ taking a poll. When I was growing up my mother and step-father were running a small theatre in Baltimore. Lots of alternative artsy stuff, etc. Quite a fair number of the actors who performed there were gay or bi, and of course, in the theatre world, you can be more open about it. Sometimes you could tell a person was gay by mannerisms, etc. but most of the time you couldn't tell, unless they told you.So, not to frighten spectre or anything, but who REALLY KNOWS how many gay skydivers are out there??Speed Racer"De plaene!! De plaene!!"
riggerrob 643 #17 June 7, 2001 We used to jump with a guy who claimed to be the best gay skydiver in Canada.
cloud9 0 #18 June 7, 2001 I don't know any gay skydivers. But we know where the gay football players are! Remember the thread with the finger up the bum!! Why did they steal the word Gay anyway? Straight people used to be happy and gay. Now you can only Be Happy! Bleau Skies, Square Canopies, and straight sex!

SpeedRacer 1 #20 June 7, 2001 As a straight guy who knows a fair number of gay & bisexual people, I definitely would NOT want people on the DZ to be cold & unfriendly to skydivers or aspiring skydivers, who also happen to be gay. If you're a real man you should stand up for what you know is right & not hunker down behind your petty prejudices.OK, off the soapbox. The totally NON-serious answer now:Q: Why are there no gay male skydivers?A: It's too hard to separate them from their tandem masters!Speed Racer"De plaene!! De plaene!!" Iflyme 0 #21 June 7, 2001 Who really cares about sexual orientation...??? It has no impact on skydiving, or anything else for that matter... to each his/her own.
