Doasfu 0 #1 June 17, 2001 So, I was driving back from the DZ today, and you know what I did? I hit a bird with my car. Don't get me wrong, this bird was clearly suicidal, but it still made me pretty sad. I don't know about you guys, and this may seem a bit cheesy, but ever since my first jump I've been fond of birds, and hitting one on the way back from the DZ just doesn't seem right. Flying things rule, why did I have to kill one?Dan"Oh, you went to a movie this weekend? That's nice. Me? Not much."

Pammi 0 #5 June 18, 2001 I hear ya! I'm kinda an animal freak...well, just about anything living freak, even bugs. I've only hit one thing before my 'incident', a squirrel, and it really brought me down. Then a couple weeks ago, I hit a bird on the way to the dz. The most horrible sound (it hit the windshield!!). Luckily Merrick knows me and immediately starting telling me how it wasn't my fault (another suicide mission it seemed!). It still seemed wrong! Especially since we were on our way to the DZ! Okay, I'm a freak, I admit it. Some newpics.

PhillyKev 0 #7 June 18, 2001 I hit a flock of birds one time. Like, five of them kamikazed right into my front end...there was feathers and blood stuck in the grill. Pretty disgusting scene.

In fact that was probably a mommy bird flying back to feed its baby birds, then you KILLED the mommy bird, so the baby birds just kept chirp chirping until they died of hunger. Boy I'm glad it wasn't me who killed that mommy bird, I could NEVER live with that kind of guilt.../s"spread the guilt"

Grogs 0 #11 June 18, 2001 LOL, I've smacked a bird before. Strangely it was on the way to the DZ also. He/she just flew right in front of the car as I passed by.And speaking of birds... I almost hit one in freefall one day. Right as I threw out my pilot chute, I saw something go shooting past me about 10 feet away. Once I was in the saddle, I looked up and saw a hawk flying around right above me. Pammi: I go out of my way to avoid turtles in the road for god sake! I had a deer run into the side of my vehicle when I was stopped at a stop sign one evening. I thought the thing was dead until it started to stumble trying to get up, looked like it had broken it's leg. So, I run to a pay phone and call the police, I figure they can at least put it out of it's misery. By the time the police got there, it had gotten up and run away . . . I started feeling less and less guilty about the event. Not only was I involved in a hit and run, but I think he was intoxicated to boot!!Diva
 Pammi 0 #13 June 18, 2001 QuotePammi, Merrick lied to you - it totally was your fault!
