GeekStreak 0 #1 June 16, 2001 Either I've lost my mind or, um, uhhh...... I Guess I did .When I became infected with skydiving I instantly attempted to infect everybody I know as well. So far I get the usual responses, "I don't think so!" "Not me!", "You must be crazy!", etc... My wife, however, expressed intrest, but really wanted to complete a motorcycle safety course and save up for a motorcycle. She estimated that she would have a motorcycle in 2-3 years. I didn't want to wait that long! Today I bought each of us a new motorcycle! HER BIKE MY BIKE1111,GeekStreak
freaksister 0 #2 June 16, 2001 Damn! How cool is that? Congratulations! I am really jealous! Those are cool looking bikes, and not very expensive. I couldn't believe the 5K price sticker. Some people pay more than that for their rigs! Have fun cruising!!Sis The road to hell is paved with good intentions-but sometimes, good intentions are all we humans have. PhillyKev 0 #3 June 16, 2001 Excellent! I was bike shopping last spring and was considering the Shadow. Decided on the Suzuki Marauder, though. Unfortunately, didn't get either. Bought a new car instead. Have fun ....and no matter how tempting it is...don't wear your rig and throw out your pc while doing 90 on the bike. It may sound fun, but, well...no, it sounds like it would hurt, really....
RemiAndKaren 0 #4 June 16, 2001 Cool Stuff!! But is she skydiving yet? ;-)
wingnut 0 #5 June 16, 2001 glad to hear your apeasing the wife, now she probly wouldn't mind going on that road trip to quincy would she????....nice bikes!!!! wish mine still looked new but after 2 years in germany and one turn that magically changed from 45deg. to 120deg. it isn't looking the same. i'll toast to your safe riding tonight.....or maybe right now.....p.s. a M.S.F. course is always a good thing for everybody to take!!!"if dreams are like movies, then memories are like films about ghosts"-counting crows
GeekStreak 0 #6 June 16, 2001 QuoteI couldn't believe the 5K price stickerteehee! They took $500 off of each bike, gave me a $300 rebate on each bike, threw in saddle bags, $600 worth of accessories, and a better deal on financing than my credit union offers. How cool is that?!?!?! I guess when you're buying 2 bikes they get a little excited too!QuoteCool Stuff!! But is she skydiving yet? ;-)I'll go get my motorcycle endorsement next week and get her a learners permit so we can ride together. When she's licensed, we jump! No more excuses!Quoteone turn that magically changed from 45deg. to 120degYep yep. I killed a 650 Maxim that way. One little rock in the road is all it takes. Skydiving is much safer!Quotea M.S.F. course is always a good thing for everybody to take!!!So true. Some states are considering making it mandatory to get a license. MD requires it for young riders (under 21 I beleive). I've already taken one. I think everybody should.Quotenow she probly wouldn't mind going on that road trip to quincy would she????....Probably not. These bikes are very smooth and comfy. With a 25.6 inch seat height and forward mounted pegs it's kinda like riding an easy chair that rumbles 1111,GeekStreak

skreamer 1 #8 June 16, 2001 Dude, what is your wife going to say when she finds out she got the standard model and you got the deluxe? So you paid about $9000 in total? Personally I'd rather take the 529 jump tickets and ride a bicycle!
 wingnut 0 #9 June 17, 2001 i could see ya on a little moped skreamer,,,,,, just puttering along to the dz. didn't you say it was a 2 hour car drive??? well you could make it in about 6 hours with a little moped!!!!!! that would rock, only problem is that if i ever drove my bike to england and drove with ya to the dz, i'd have to stay on first gear the whole time!!!! and as for benw's bike that thing is kick ass!!!!!! he's got something like a 1000cc aprila and it flies!!!!!!!i think he could idle it and go faster than my bike in 6th gear."if dreams are like movies, then memories are like films about ghosts"-counting crows
 Grogs 0 #10 June 18, 2001 QuotePersonally I'd rather take the 529 jump tickets and ride a bicycle! The day I made my first tandum jump. Its funny how I can remember dates like that! I decided to get a motorcycle before getting a parachute. I just can't wait till I can cruise to the DZ, get off my bike, get on a plane, and jump out! They make gear bags that keep your rig enclosed so nothing can go off while you are riding. I already got the motorcycle, a 2001 Buell Lighting X1. I start static line lessons (Hopefully) in 2 weeks. I am waiting for a friend to have the money to take lessons. I told him he has 2 weeks, otherwise I go without him! Here is the funny thing, My mom found out I got my motorcycle. Then she told be she would rather see me skydiving then riding a motorcycle. I am still very confused about that statement! The buell is an excellent handling bike, and there aren't very many of them out there.
