Dutchboy 0 #26 June 21, 2001 QuoteDid you already get your high performnace endorsement? I think it's kinda BS that they separated the twoYeah, I got that last week. Kinda funny really since I went to the flight school next door to the one for my instrument rating for the HP. I told them I was thinking about an instrument rating, but didn't tell them I already started one next door. They thought I was just getting some complex time. It is going to take me several more months to get my rating since I'm only flying twice a week. Probably September. Along the way I have a plane to finish and some more x-country time I need to fly.The Dutchboyhttp://www.geocities.com/ppolstra
jfields 0 #27 June 21, 2001 QuoteI live in MD right now and I don't recommend it to anybody. Ouch! I'm wounded. I love Maryland. Like any state, it has its great spots and its not-so-great spots. I don't say that all of New Jersey is like Newark. If so, the whole state would commit suicide. DC isn't in Maryland, so don't hold it against the state. And Baltimore. Well, I suppose I have to admit that Baltimore has issues. I'm not saying Pammi and Merrick should move here, but it is a nice place to live.Justin"If it can't kill you, it isn't worth doing." DZBone 0 #28 June 21, 2001 Two words:Southern CaliforniaBreak it down:City/Town Size: take your pickWeather: do I even have to mention it? Even when it sux it's great. Compare your forecast to this.Job Market: As good as anywhere these daysHousing: may take some looking aroundCommunities: what do you like? Compare LA to Carlsbad and you'll see the range availableSchools: dunno, should be able to find good onesCulture: did I mention the weather? Geological Stability: hey, you gotta go somehow, right? Would you prefer tornadoes or flooding?Mountains, ocean, lakes, rivers, desert. You can surf and ski on the same day for several months out of the year. Two great dropzones (Perris and Elsinore) with several more good ones not too far. A days drive to Las Vegas. The Pacific Coast Highway, one of the most gorgeous drives in the world, takes you to Monterey, and the most awesome Monterey Bay Aquarium, and San Francisco, natch. South is San Diego, and their great culture and Zoo and Wild Animal Park (for the kids, you know). Close to Tijuana, Mexico, for those "special" nights out. It's where I want to live. Just need to squirt a kid and find a job.Carl

Donna 0 #31 June 21, 2001 Well my town is small but there are large towns real close. We have a great school system and the area is very safe. The scenery is real pretty. The job market is good. The housing prices depend on which town you actually live in and we don't think they are too bad but people from other parts of the country may not agree. Summer and fall are beautiful but winters do suck unless you ski. But we have 2 DZs about a half hour away and 3 more less than 2 hours away and then The Ranch about 3 and half hours away.
