Thumper 0 #1 June 22, 2001 Just thought I'd say hello and introduce myself as I'm new to the board. If you post on jeepboard.com or rockclimbing.com you may have spoken with me before. Anyway I started static training about 2 months ago @ skydive phoenix (14 hour drive each way) and after a 6 week wait have started jumping in spearfish SD (only 4.5 - 5 each way). I'm leaving tomorrow night to jump on saturday and I will be doing my first freefalls. I'm a little nervous about this weekend. All I know is that I've wanted to skydive since I was in the single digits and at the ripe old age of 24 I've finally begun doing what I'd hoped and am finding do, love to do. I'm sure that tonight and tomorow night will be sleepless, I feel like it's Christmas every weekend!Anway, hello again.
skymama 37 #2 June 22, 2001 Hi Thumper-Welcome to the forums and welcome to the sport! After reading about your long drive, I'll be sure to not complain about my half-hour drive! Let us know how your freefalls go. Don't worry about being nervous-I think we all pretty much were during our training.Blue Skies-Andrea"Up high, I feel like I'm alive for the very first time"...Creed

numskull99 0 #4 June 22, 2001 Hey Thumper,Well that is one thing in skydiving, almost every time you do something for the first time you will be worried. Along with owing a case. But hey its just part of the sport. Now something that will really get ya is after you have over 100 jumps by yourself and someone who is training to be a Tandom Master askes you to jump with them. I started static line to. You wont want to. That happend to me and I got a 4 Pt 4 way out of it. And now I look back and see how much fun I had. I don't know if I ever want to do it again but it was still worth trying. I dunno how I got into that from your problem, but hey don't worry about it. You will do just fine. Good luck.-NumsSCR-14335((((Don't you just hate when you don't know what number you want to put???)))
