Slowfaller 0 #1 July 9, 2001 I want to know your opinions on the capital commentary out of july's parachutist. I jump at a really big DZ and I'm still pretty new to the sport. I'm having some trouble gettin' in the groove of things and wondering if any of you great people had trouble and what you did to overcome it. axe96bam 0 #3 July 9, 2001 I have not seen anything like that at our DZ. It is a mid size DZ and we still keep everyone in the close circle. We party every Friday and Saturday night and all are invited no matter if you just took you FJC or have 5000 jumps

Slowfaller 0 #7 July 9, 2001 QuoteWhat did it say??Chris Needles was saying that they get a lot of letters from jumpers that just got their A licenses and then kind of drop out of skydiving because they're too intimidated or something like that. It just seems that everybody is great friends and here comes the new guy. Then Chris goes to say, it takes parts on both sides, the new jumper, and the old jumpers. I cant put into words as well as he did and I dont have ther article in front of me. When I read it it just got me thinking if this happends a lot or not. Chris. Hell thats when everything s getting good. Now you can travel to other DZ's and make more friends. I'll admit though there is some intimedation when first starting out, but both sides have to be willing to advance. YOu cant walk in to a DZ and expect everyone to just come to you,,, you have to approach them! And once you do you'll find that most are very nice and helpful.jason
mouth 0 #9 July 9, 2001 I don't see much of that at our DZ and I consider us to be decent sized. I agree that you must be willing to make the first move often just becuase some jumpers may not know where you are experience wise or even if you want to jump with someone.
