Yesterday evening after the memorial service at SDC a group of Ali's friends went up for a memorial jump. They got together and formed a smiley face for her.
This is the first person I have known (though not very well - a couple of very short passing conversions) that has passed on while jumping and it has made a lasting impression. I hope it never happens again but chances are it will. I just wanted to thank the people involved in her smiley face jump. It was a nice tribute.

Form your own opinions about where you want to jump but remember that SDC does a lot more jumps than most places and that a several of the fatalities were bizarre - 2 on world record attempts and one involved the following "perhaps attempting a handstand on top of his slider, while steering with his foot in the cascades of the suspension lines".

MAtt has a valid point. SDC is one of the busiest DZs. they make thousands of jumps every Sat and Sunday. So if you take percentages, they are not large at all.
