Cacophony 0 #1 July 16, 2001 It all started off with a guy at my DZ with a bad landing. He was fine except for the fact that his rig was covered in grass stains from when he turned WAY to low to avoid landing off the windline. Not a very smart move. Next my friend had a broken B cascade line, only it broke up at the tac where its attached to the canopy. It was then forced through the grommet of his slider the wrong direction. We concluded that it was probably a tension knot or the slider snagged it on opening. The most freaky incident of the day involved a near fatality. A student doing his first BOC jump managed to get his pilot chute between his legs and around his chest. He was observed on his back spinning through 1000'. His cypres fired a tiny bit late. He was under his reserve for 4 seconds before he touched the ground. Supposedly right after his reserve opened his feet touched the top of a tree. On a lighter note, yesterday we had a runaway cow run down our taxi-way and across the runway. It was a good thing the plane wasn't coming in to land. The cow eventually jumped the fence and ran through a corn field. What a weekend indeed.Safe landings,Alex D-23912
AggieDave 6 #2 July 16, 2001 Almost touching a tree...that would get your heart rate up if it wasn't already beating out of your chest...Wow, about the only thing that didn't happen was that the cows didn't come home...oh, wait, nevermind.
