rendezvous 0 #1 July 19, 2001 Where could I find out what the various harness sizes ( and if I'm assuming correctly ) like C-17 or C-16 actually imply. Thanks.
PhreeZone 20 #2 July 19, 2001 Call Sunpath and talk to Aggie. He is great to work with on resizing of a harness!Whoa... That was cool!
RemiAndKaren 0 #3 July 20, 2001 I'm pretty sure every manufacturer has its own system... so you'll need to contact them individually... or call a dealer that does the different models you are looking for.
Grogs 0 #4 July 20, 2001 On the Javelin, the letter indicates the width of the harness yoke across the shoulders and the number indicates the length of the harness between the hip ring (if equipped) and the (?) 3-ring assembly - I know it's a vertical measurement.C-17 seems to be the harness size for the average (median) male and something around the B-15 - C-16 is the average female size. As mentioned earlier, talk to Sunpath. They can give you a good explanation and tell you where/how to measure to determine your own harness size. skybytch 273 #5 July 20, 2001 Let me know your height and inseam measurement and I can come pretty close to what harness size you'll need. The harness size or MLW (main lift web measurement) is determined by the length of your torso and like Grogs said is measured from the bottom of the three ring down to the junction with the leg strap. Height alone doesn't tell the whole tale. A guy 5'8" will likely take a C16 in a Javelin, but a woman 5'8" will probably be in a B15 or even a 14, as chicks tend to have longer legs than guys. Weight comes in to the equation if the jumper is not "average" - ie weightlifters or those genetically predisposed to a bowling ball shape.pull and flare,lisa----I am a nobody. Nobody's perfect. Therefore, I am perfect!
