wceviper 0 #1 August 4, 2001 I went to Byron this morning, I had my AFF L2 jump scheduled for 9am. On the way out there it was very windy. I got there at about 8:45am, The wind metter was saying anywhere from 22-35mph. I stayed till around 1:30 before giving up! Anyway, going back tomorrow afternoon :) Hopefully conditions will be better.-Jason

Jimbo 0 #3 August 4, 2001 Wind sucks while on student status, but when you start jumping your own smaller, faster rig you'll learn to appreciate the winds. There's nothing like a nice breeze to make for a picture perfect landing.
freaksister 0 #4 August 4, 2001 Right! When I pull up to the DZ and see a full windsock, I get a big smile on my face! 15 mph winds make for perfect landings!! No wind days are the ones where I never jump in shorts or Tevas! Just hang in there, bro! Sis Before you judge me, take a look at you...
DZBone 0 #5 August 5, 2001 Quotewhen you start jumping your own smaller, faster rig you'll learn to appreciate the winds.Um, isn't speed the reason you jump a smaller, faster rig? If it's such a relief to have some wind, why don't you just get a larger canopy? You can tell people it's smaller if you want.
