I did it - finally!!!!!

Recommended Posts

I did it...... I got it........I passed it..........I am my own greatest hero (well, that's a bit much, but I am very bloody happy with myself). I finally got my A license. It took me a looong time, and lots and lots of jumps (don't ask), but here I am, finally a licensed skydiver. Actually, I passed 4 weeks ago but then I escaped from work, family and everything else to the other side of the world - without my rig, (but some things are even better than jumping out of a plane!!!!!!!!) I am back home and this coming weekend I am finally jumping my own rig. I AM SO EXCITED!!!! I just had to share that with y'all.

skySue,
If I had known you were coming to the US, I would have untied FFF and we could have gone partying together sooner than we did. I just hated to let him get loose any sooner than we let him. I hope you had as much fun as I did. See you at home next week. Congratulations on your A, btw. I know we didn't have time to talk about that subject, what with all we had to do, but belated congratulations.

Jonathan,
You are licensed in terms of jumping most places, etc. as soon as you finish the card.
To get a number you have to submit a copy of the card with the official stamp on it to USPA, then you get your number. The cool part is you can go to other DZs before you get your number as long as you have your card!!!
Blue skies,
Anne

Oh i C, I just carried my log book with me to other DZs and that was all they needed from me, luckily i was within the same state so the JM knew the JMs from my other DZ so they knew it was legit (moved after jump 12 cause i had free gear at one Dropzone and not the one i was at.)

Yeah, being in the same general area helps. Sometimes DZs make students prove that they know what their log books claim, by repeating a level or a specific delay (s/l progression). Having the stamped card eliminates all of that because it proves you are licensed. You don't have to wiat for USPA to process the whole thing.

Watcher - The Australian Parachute Federation issues numbers, but I left the country just after I qualified and had the license sent to my DZ. I haven't actually picked it up yet, but I know it has arrived - everyone else has checked it out!!!
And this weekend, after 3 weeks in another heaven, I will get back in the sky!
(thanks FFF - right again!)
