Andy Dobbs Memorial

As most of you know Andy was killed Thursday August 2nd in a landing
accident at Skydive Monroe.
Andy had been planning to throw a party at the DZ for his son Chase's
18th
birthday. Andy and Chase were exceptionally close, closer than most
17
year old's father/son relationships. They were best friends. Andy
introduced to Chase to Skydiving when he turned 16 and their
relationship
really grew into that best friend status that it was on the day of his
death.
As one of many, of Andy's friends, my heart is broken over the loss of
such
a good friend. The only thing I know how to do for him is be a good
friend
in return. So friends from Skydive Monroe and Skydive Atlanta are
going to
make sure that Chase gets that birthday party, Chase expressed his want
to
do memorial jumps for his dad on that day. So we are going to combine
the
memorial and birthday into one hell of a party that for those of you
who
knew Andy know he loved a good party. We are going to express to Chase
that
he is not alone, he lost his father, and maybe between 50 or so of us
keeping an eye on him and showing our love for him, he will know we too
are
family and will do what ever it takes to ease his pain.
So in True Andy spirit, the party and the skydiving must go on. Here
are
the details. Saturday August 18th at Skydive Monroe, jumps all day,
Some
of his non skydiving friends want to do tandems, Chris from Skydive
Atlanta
promised me he would cook his famous chicken. We reserved the band
that
Andy wanted to play for the party. So we are planning to skydive hard
and
party even harder. We do need some estimate of people planning to
attend.
Bill Scott our DZO will get a bigger plane if needed (We have a king
air)

Andy had enough friends for a Casa or Two so let us know!!. And in
the
words of Andy just days before his death, he said "Good food, Good
Friends,
Good wine, what more do you need"

I plan on being there. Andy was such an upbeat guy and so much fun to jump with. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
