Zennie 0 #1 August 21, 2001 I don't know about the rest of y'all, I'm going through chat withdrawals. So I set up a channel #skydiving on EFNet (irc.prison.net let me right in). So if you have an IRC client, come on in to #skydiving. I'll be waiting!------------Blue Skies!Zennie
skymama 37 #2 August 21, 2001 Zennie-How about some step-by-step instructions on how to be an IRC client for all of us out here who have no idea what that means? It's been mentioned before and I've never been able to figure it out.Thanks-Andreahmmm, thinking of a new tag...any suggestions?
Zennie 0 #3 August 21, 2001 Go To www.mirc.com.Download and install mIRC. You now have the chat client software. When you install the software, it should walk you through the basic setup. Start the software. Select File:Options....Make sure that "Connect" is selected on the left-hand side of the dialog. Pick "EFNet" by IRC Servers:You now will have a list of EFNet servers immediately below. Pick any one of them and click "Connect to IRC Server". Many will not let you in (because they're busy or other reasons). I used EFNet: US, CA, San Luis Obispo. But any EFNet server that you can get into will do.When you are connected, at the bottom of the status window (it should be the only one showing) will be a text box. Type "/join #skydiving" (no quotes) and hit enter. You should be in.Hope this helps.------------Blue Skies!Zennie
