PhreeZone 20 #2 August 29, 2001 Best bet... Don't!If you truely want to find a local jumper that you respect and talk to them. Take any advice here with LOTS of salt. BASE is a whole new ballgame from skydiving. Skydiving can be done by anyone almost. BASE..... well theres a reason there are'nt many BASE jumpers.Do I HAVE to do another raft dive??? They have a plethora of information. The min requirements are 150 skydives and the 1st BASE course is $1000. BASE jumpers aren't insane, contrary to the belief of most people. You would think that skydivers would be more open minded about it. Check out blincmagazine... they have a public BASE board. You can post, but most BASE jumpers tend to be VERY careful about who they talk to since the cops frequent the web site. Also check out baselogic. I know quite a few BASE jumpers, and can answer some questions for you, but don't ask for names or places to BASE, cuz you won't get any answers about that stuff. There are a few organized legal jumps such as Bridge Day which is next month I believe. Hope I've been of some help.Blues!Dar"Don't let the world get you downNot everyone here is that fucked up and cold."- Incubus
 freeflir29 0 #6 August 29, 2001 Hey, Slappie was just poking a little fun. We arent being closed minded. I just simply said that for me the risk is too high. Sounds funny coming from me but it's the truth. The events I know of are Bridge day, Space Neddle in Seattle, WA., and some cliffs in Arizona are legal cuase it's BLM land. BASE is way cool to watch but I dont like betting on one parachute.
