lazerq3 0 #1 August 30, 2001 Great googly moogly my wife has agreed to go up on an observation ride with me when I jump out!!!! I know it may not sound like that big of deal but you dont know my wife! And here is the kicker she even said when (if) I become a tandem master she will go on a tandem with me!!! Damn thats a ways away, but beleive me I WILL NOT FORGET THOSE WORDS. We even shook on it! We have a king air coming for a week but I told her I wont let her ride that up because they make the observers ride up front of the plane. I want her to go on the cessna so when that door opens she gets a good look no matter where she sits (not to much room to hide in a 182). Shes gone up with my dad in his little decathalon but never experianced THE DOOR!!!!!! . I told her shed make a great Skydiver cause she's into gymnastics, I said there ya go get into freestyle skydiving. One thing at a time I guessAnyway I'm pretty excited. Dont have a date planned yet but it will be very soon . I'll let you all know how she did she goes. JasonA-38658

SpeedRacer 1 #3 August 30, 2001 QuoteGreat googly moogly OK, I wanna know where this comes from.. I've seen it on threads, and back in 1982 or so I saw it written on a wall in a shelter on the Appalachian Trail. But the earliest I've ever heard it was from a Howlin' Wolf song from 1962. Anyone know where this expression comes from??Speed Racer"Come up to my lab,And see what's on the slab!"

LOLGreat googly moogly!!! hehehehe I should remember to use that...However, Speedy, I don't know where it came from, although I imagine it was some slang invention originating here in the US, or maybe the UK. Can't picture them being so uncooth though! LOLGlad to see you on chat last night, Speedy! How is your hangover? I guess that's why we call it Happy Hour!Sis (great googly moogly!!)I lust for the ultimate rush...

fred 0 #6 August 30, 2001 Has your wife seen a C-182? Good lord. I think jumping out of that plane is the preferred way down.Pretty exciting though. For me, that door opening was the scariest part of my first jump. She'll have fun, though.
Dutchboy 0 #7 August 30, 2001 Cool! The observer ride is probably a good start. That way she won't do what my whyffo did, and chicken out at the door. The Dutchboyhttp://www.geocities.com/ppolstra
freeflir29 0 #8 August 30, 2001 "chicken out at the door"You should have just taken care of that military style. Pause too long in the door, get a big boot in the ass. They usually have no trouble going out then.....except that Egyptian soldier that was found hanging on to the static line when my buddy try to retrieve the D-Bags. Jessica 0 #9 August 30, 2001 QuoteOK, I wanna know where this comes from..Did a Web search...the earliest I could find it:"An earlier citation of the phrase "great googly moogly" is "Stranded In The Jungle," a simultaneous hit in 1956 in competing versions by the Cadets and the Jayhawks."It also apparently was featured in a Snickers commercial, though I don't remember that. It's a mystery!
