Aviatrr 0 #3 August 23, 2001 There are a few Crossfires floating around out there that are overall black with gold ribs.. Hell, I almost bought one.....then I really realized how hideous it looks.. It's a stock color for Icarus - I guess for those wannabe GK's..Mike
freaksister 0 #4 August 23, 2001 i say that the ugliest canopy around are some old paracommanders i saw at eagle flight last year! yikes! not only are they like, gold, red and brown, and are rounds AND they have big holes cut in them for "steering" purposes. I admire anyone who learned to fly on PC's or T-10s or anything else, but those damn things were freakin' UGLY!!Hugs,SisI don't want the meaning of life, I want the experience of being alive! DZBone 0 #6 August 23, 2001 We used to have a student ParaCommander we lovingly referred to as the "puke chute". I'll let your imagation fill in the details, and advise you not to hold back!I was talking to the guy who used to be our rigger there (still is for most of us), and he says he still has it and jumps it once a year or so!Ewwww! Gross on so many levels!

PLFXpert 0 #11 August 23, 2001 My canopy is not much to look at on the ground (orange and lemon colored) but it's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen when it's open nicely above my headI'm sure it will be a long time before I actually get to pick what colors I'd ideally want but when that time comes, I want a dark purple, royal blue, and then baby blue canopy.Much love and blue skies,Carrie http://www.geocities.com/skydivegrl20/

FallinWoman 1 #13 August 24, 2001 There is one canopy at my DZ that is ok up close- pink and light blue ribs and a print that is the same colors on top and bottom. From the ground it just looks dull brown, almost pukey. My baby wouldn't qualify...she's a beauty!Blue skies, anne
phatcat 0 #14 August 24, 2001 One of my JM’s said it won’t open if it isn’t pretty, is that true? Personally, given my limited experience, any canopy that inflates correctly is the most beautiful thing that God ever created since the beginning of time as far as I’m concerned. Aviatrr 0 #15 August 24, 2001 Quote That is cuz they just kill whoever is piloting them. I hear the planes are damn hard to land and taxi. Is that true?? Just like parachutes, they normally only kill the stupid pilots.. Taildraggers are easy to takeoff, land, and taxi if you know what you're doing.. For somebody that has never flown a taildragger it may be tough, but just like anything else, with a little experience....it's not at all hard..Mike
Aviatrr 0 #16 August 24, 2001 Quote One of my JM’s said it won’t open if it isn’t pretty, is that true? That's exactly right.. If a canopy doesn't open for ya, it's the ugliest damn thing ever.. It it does open, it's the most beautiful canopy you've ever seen.. This is ESPECIALLY true when it comes to reserves..Mike

ramon 0 #23 August 24, 2001 I have a full time job and I skydive on the weekends. I am a fun jumper, but am good enough to coach beginners (sometimes I'll do it for free, when I'm trying to fun jump with my friends and someone wants me to coach them and they want video , I ask for my slot and a pack job for my time.)
