chronistin 0 #3 September 8, 2001 ... and Beer it was. After the jumping.I was quite nervous about the jump, rather ridiculous, because I was jumping a main I had jumped before, but still...Weather was unstable, I was running around and telling everybody about my new gear (and panicking...), but finally, the sky cleared up. The skyvan almost full with Tandems, a twoway freefly and a friend and myself. He said he would stay at a distance but still video my first jump (hope to get the pictures soon)Jump was great, a whole different feeling with a gear that fits! Almost as if you have nothing on your back... glad I decided to get that Mirage although I was getting unsure about it because its so expensive...Reached for the Handdeploy a few times to make sure I find it, alright, turned around to see mey friend flying at a distance, so we turn to each other and hold hands for a while... Then its time to separate, the canopy comes out square and stable (although I packed it myself the day before) , I dance a little bit... but not too much, as the winds are high up there and I have to struggle to keep near the landing area...Get a little distracted during the landing pattern by the tandemcatchers, trying to avoid them and come to terms with the changing winds, flare too late and, seeing that I will fall down, get my arm out of the way, which is good (because I don't land on it and hurt it) but also bad, because taking one hand up of course results in a turn, so I meet the ground rather hard and get a lot of grass and dirt on my overall... oh, never mind, I'm unhurt and I get up and I grin all the way back to the hangar, pack again and amready to go up again, without fear now, but... winds have gotten even stronger, so i decide to call it a day... and that was... my first jump with my own gear on my back... (still grinning)Andrea*************************************http://www.wortwerkstatt.at/skydiving
mountainman 0 #4 September 8, 2001 Sounds great! Laura and I are awaiting our new as well for the same reasons you like yours. She has actually gotten bruises on her shoulders, arms, and legs from that gear. I feel really bad for her since it doesn't hurt me but she comes out everyday looking like she just got in a fight with a baseball bat.Well, I guess we'll both appreciate it. Make sure you get those pics up!!! --------------Boogie pics coming!!!
chronistin 0 #5 September 9, 2001 QuoteShe has actually gotten bruises on her shoulders, arms, and legs from that gear. Yeah, right, and I never dared to do freefly movements because I though I would lose my gear... well, now I can. It's really worth it.Andrea(unfortunately it's too windy to jump right now...)*************************************http://www.wortwerkstatt.at/skydiving
