Kris 0 #1 September 10, 2001 Man, what a weekend! I and two other staff members ordered new, custom Mirage G3 UNISYN's on 8/20. The rigs showed up at the DZ last Friday (9/7). That's EIGHTEEN days kids!!! The rigs are perfect except for one very small, tiny embroidery detail. Absolutely outstanding service from Mirage. My reserve will be in by next weekend and my new Heatwave should show up this week as well. Bill, if you're reading this, you and your team worked a miracle on this order. And we didn't even tell them to rush them. (too much) Merrick, buddy... He was nice enough to let me use his Javelin / Sabre 190 that he brought in for a reserve re-pack this weekend since I am rigless until next weekend. I didn't ask, he offered. I had some great jumps on it today and a really nice carving swoop. Thanx, man. I owe you!Pilot Jay!!! He's the Grand Caravan driver for the Jumprun Sportswear Caravan. He was heading back to Wichita from Houston today and needed to take a leak so he landed at our DZ and did two sunset loads for us. The last one was at MAJOR altitude (I'm not tellin'!)!!!! You Rock!!!Also, on Friday I signed my offer letter with a great (and stable, thank God) company for a shitload of cash to do IT support for them. I start in a week. Life is good. What a weekend. I'm going to bed now. KrisThis post sponsored by the American Obstetrics Society:"People pulling people out of people."

Merrick 0 #4 September 10, 2001 Hey, no problem Kris... anytime you need it & it's not on my back you're welcome to it! I asked Mike to put on some dive loops for me when he gets the reserve re-packed... I obviously won't need it for a couple weeks, but am looking damn forward to getting back in the air, and hopefully once I make a few recurrency jumps I can get that 170 I've had my eye on.As far as the caravan goes.... to quote Pam...Quote"You suck Kris!"hehehe.... No seriously, I'm glad you all got in a few non-work related jumps, you guys work your ass off & deserved it!!!"Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"

Merrick, I don't know how agressive you have been getting with your canopy but I noticed a couple of things. The canopy bucked like mad during a hard front-riser turn so I really spent some time playing with your toggles... You could use about 3+ inches of slack in your control lines, there is almost no bow in the control lines. The canopy flew great and handled nice but if you plan on really playing with your front risers you should probably lengthen the lines a bit.Other than that, she flew great. I really appreciate your letting me use the rig!!!Kris
Slappie 9 #6 September 10, 2001 QuotePilot Jay!!! He's the Grand Caravan driver for the Jumprun Sportswear Caravan. He was heading back to Wichita from Houston I have to admit that guy/pilot was a really nice guy. Got to talk to him quiet abit Saturday/Sat night. He was at our DZ For the TSL meet. Had a great time. From what I heard none of the sport jumpers had any complaints except the fact we had to have him over at another airport till mid afternoon. All the rain we had the last two weeks made it really hard for the G-Caravan to land or take off. Kudos for him and the other jumpers dealing with the situation!! If he ever comes back your way, I'll give you $20 if you load him up on fluids so that he has to stop in at my DZ on the way back again. Quote Impressive.. I'm in the same boat. I've got the container but my reserve and main won't be here until probably Friday. Knowing Bill though, you'll probably have your Mirage sooner than you think...Kris

Merrick 0 #11 September 11, 2001 Quote"I wont buy a mirage just for that very reason for what they did to you guys."Well, while I really appreciate the support, I wouldn't say that just yet. True, we were (are) very pissed off about the service we received, but from everyone we've talked to it's definitely not the norm. I wouldn't completely swear them off just because of our one situation.... in fact, I'm torn, I'm pissed but at the same time, Mirage makes a damn nice rig, so I'm not sure what I'll end up getting next. Probably a vector or wings, but I still don't like either as well as the Mirage! "Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
Pammi 0 #12 September 11, 2001 I have to agree with Merrick I guess. I'm still unhappy with the situation, and even more unhappy with events that happened afterwards, but they are excellent rigs. I would've liked to have heard what specifically happened,if there was some reason things occurred as they had, but I've never gotten that from anyone. You might talk to someone there about service after the sale, perhaps they'd explain things to you more clearly then I'm aware of personally. I lived with a salesman, so I know how it can sometimes be once the sale is done. My ex was a terrific guy...as long as you hadn't bought yet. But then again, sometimes it's then out of that person's hands, or there were extenuating circumstances that I would've liked to have been made aware of. Who knows.I'm also mixed as you can tell. Thank you so much for your support though. I certainly don't want to have everyone not buy Mirages because of my situation, I just wanted to voice my frustration at that time. I hope you just get the information you need and make an informed decision you feel good about.Hemp/skydiving jewelry pics!
Aviatrr 0 #13 September 11, 2001 Quote I wont buy a mirage just for that very reason for what they did to you guys. Well, of course, that's your choice - but I went over to Mirage and spent a couple hours there(Bill Hallet personally showed me around and helped me with my choices).. The problem that Pammi had is the first major problem that I have heard of as far as customer service with Mirage.. I have known people that have had problems with Sun Path and Sunrise Rigging - but that doesn't mean I won't consider buying their rigs.. I evaluated everything, and decided that the Mirage was the best way to go for me.. Mike
skymedic 0 #14 September 11, 2001 Merrick and pam, you arent the first people I have heard this from. I have heard bad things about there customer service but then again have also heard better things too. I bought a Javelin. they made a mistake and took it back right away. even paid for my gas when I went down there to talk to them about it. Sunpath has been everything about support and then some...I am happy even though mistakes were made.MarcBecause I fly, I envy no man on earth
Pammi 0 #15 September 11, 2001 QuoteMerrick and pam, you arent the first people I have heard this from. Oh? Thanks...was beginning to think from most responses and 'the other stuff' I was alone or a fluke. Got a lot of flack for being upset with them, which I had always thought was my right...to voice my experiences. Guess not! So, I'm not going to say anything else tho....for personal reasons.
