YoungAaron 0 #1 September 14, 2001 last week end i went to a "real" drop zone and i tell ya it blew my fucking mind. i am used to jumping out of little 182's and and i am always having to go up wit an aff or tandem because their isnt enough regular skydivers or enough experienced skydivers to jump wit. but at nagambie, a "real" drop zone it was so much better. it was the first time i had jumped out of a big plane, which was the cessna caravaan. it was the first time i had gone to 14000 feet and it was the first time i had jumped with ppl that new 4-ways properly. i was doing a 4 way seminar and i tell u wat i learnt in the 6 jumps i did on the week end i learnt more then i av learnt in the least 100 jumps. i dont think i could eva go back to jumping out of small planes and why would i.blues skies !!! mwthomsen 0 #2 September 14, 2001 Here is an idea if you enjoy improving your flying skills try to get to a tunnel. I spent some time at the one in Orlando, not only did I learn alot I got to watch some teams train and see how they fly. Talk about increasing your learning curve. I think it was probably the best money I have spent.

Dutchboy 0 #4 September 14, 2001 You can launch a 4-way from a Cessna 182. Sometimes it is nice to get a ride up in a turboprop though. The Dutchboyhttp://www.geocities.com/ppolstra
RemiAndKaren 0 #5 September 14, 2001 Welcome.. BEER!But remember: it aint beacause it has a turbine that it makes it a "real DZ".... i think the Nevada DZ we all love to hate has a turbine, and I'm pretty sure too that most of us would rather jump from a 182 at another DZ then there...PS: lauching a 4way from a 182 is fun.. and even more from a 180 with no step!!!RemiMuff
Dutchboy 0 #6 September 14, 2001 How did you do the 180 launch? The Dutchboyhttp://www.geocities.com/ppolstra
RemiAndKaren 0 #7 September 14, 2001 Its a "bit" accrobatic.. eheheh and its been a while for me (about 4 years ago) so take whats below with a grainof salt...get the pilot to put the brake on the front wheelsfar hang goes out and needs to get his right foot on the wheel, hanging on right arm, I used to wrap my arm and hang from the elbow (yes, its gonna make the launch tough cuz he's back will be a bit in the relatve wind)cant remember if the V or "close hang" goes next, but in any event, they go out... as I remember, the close hang gets his left foot on the wheel too (but I aint too sure now), the guys in the V .. I think has his left leg dangling and his right propped on the edge of the door the divers, well, in the plane and dives!its sketchy... sorry.... Dutchboy 0 #8 September 14, 2001 OK, I think I have a vague picture. Trying to remember how far forward the wheels are on a 180.The Dutchboyhttp://www.geocities.com/ppolstra
RemiAndKaren 0 #9 September 14, 2001 QuoteTrying to remember how far forward ..far enough to make it fun! on the lauchm, you REALY have to but some energy in twisting your bodies to get them in the air properly... a few funnels will be had...RemiMuff

Dutchboy 0 #11 September 14, 2001 I hope the plane at least had a parking brake! Trying to fly with the toe brakes applied would be hard. The Dutchboyhttp://www.geocities.com/ppolstra
