first jump on my "new" rig

well i did it today... jumped a 19 year old main chute... it's a 7 cell 265 sq. ft. in a 1981 racer with a 5 cell 195sq.Ft. reserve... and it's allllllll mine!!!!!!!! it was the softest opening i've ever had and it flew like a champ. i'm used to pulling the toggle to my shoulder on my saber and being able to look "up" at my chute and see it almost perpindicular to the ground, now i had to go to my crotch to make this thing turn any way near fast......... so smooth!!!!! and i landed dead center in the peas!!!!!!!!!!!!! just wish it had the flare my sabre does but hell, it's 265 sq.ft. who needs to flare!

That's the nice thing about the big canopies there smooth and
accurate. And there is not alot of flare needed.

Damn man, you're gonna be backing up in 5mph wind! I think by the time you get that behemoth on the ground, everybody that was on your load will be packed up and ready to go again! On the bright side, with a bad spot, you can land in a parking space..
Is that your first rig, or just an additional rig?

oh it's just a second rig. i also have a sabre 150 and ravenII in a 1983 racer....don't ask me why i like the old racers they just seem to like me......can't wait to get a tempo 170 to put in my "new" racer..it was actually made less than a decade ago and has real riser covers!!

Riser Covers? What are those? I have these snaps that hold my risers in. Is that what you are talkin about? I Free Fly all the time.

well, my rig is a 1983 racer sst. it's riser covers start on the reserve container side and go to the main pack tray. there is about 7" of exposed riser as it is fed around the shoulder strap and down the side of the container.... dzbone has a rig about just like mine....but the collours look better!

what cha mean gullable??? i never said i belived ya on the snap thing... and supply was out they have a due out date of 01345(julian date) and i couldn't find the yard of flightline ya wanted and my rifle will just have to rust cuz i couldn't get the K9P lubricant for it....the kennel was all out....and that left handed ratchet, well they are out of those too, but i did manage to get the keys to one of the jets for ya........
