Merrick 0 #1 September 24, 2001 You may have already seen this, but I thought you guys might get a kick out of it. I saw it about a year ago, and just ran accross it again... Keep up the good work HH! "Sangiro's Synergy"Looks like he's changed all his skydiving links & email addy to point to dz.com."Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
PLFKING 4 #2 September 25, 2001 Yeah, Merrick....I remember seeing that last year also....it was a good site, but not as awesome as this site has become.....And just think -- this home we call "Dropzone.com" sprang from the imagination of a young South African boy as he played on the veldt, dreaming of skydiving, dreaming of moving to San Francisco, dreaming of creating his very own website and transforming it into this....Okay....maybe I got ALL of that wrong, but it sounded good !FYI for all the new folks here....Sangiro and Dropzone.com were written up in a peice in Parachutist late last year (I think). It made for interesting reading, and described the transition from a page to let friends talk about their first jumps into a full-blown website....you might check it out if you can find it.....Don

PLFKING 4 #4 September 25, 2001 Well, Anne, I don't think he is, personally !And I just ran a search in the old forums....the article was in last November's issue of Parachutist ( I think...I wrote the following at the time...). I guess people DON'T change that much as they age, or, at the least, they write the same senseless crap over and over !Quote PLFKING Nov-01-00, 05:25 AM (PDT) "Kudos to Sangiro" Hi fellow misfits--Has everyone checked out the article about dropzone.com in the new issue of Parachuting Magazine, and the interview with our fearless moderator? (It's pretty interesting--the story of the poor country boy who has a dream, works hard to make it a reality, and suceeds beyond his wildest dreams, etc.... ) Actually, nothing like that, but it was interesting to me to learn of our forum's humble beginnings, and of the growth it has achieved in a relatively short time. Hats off to Sangiro for a job well done, and maybe now, since we know your REAL name, you can tell us where " Sangiro " came from. The PLF Premier Don
iamcolin 0 #5 September 25, 2001 Hey is there anyways I can subscribe to Parachutist magazine without actually having a copy of the magazine? Like a phone number or website I can go to or something.
FallingMarc 0 #6 September 25, 2001 A subscription to Parachutist comes along with your USPA membership. It took a couple of months after I applied for membership before I actually recieved a magazine though...Marc
