Joolee 0 #1 September 20, 2001 Hi again everyone. I've been away for quite a while since finishing Uni because I only have access to computers in the local library now. Since then though I've obtained my FF1 and my FS1 within two days of eachother and managed to do my FS qualification jump with Dan B.C, Jack Jeffries, and John McIver - and my Freefly qualification jump with Sven Zimmerman - not bad is it?I'm a bit broke though at the moment - no job means lots of packing and not much jumping.I suppose the situation out in the States has put a bit of a block on jumping - are any DZ's in full operation?Well that's all for now folks,Joo
Pammi 0 #2 September 20, 2001 Hey Joolee! Good to hear from you again! I don't really know what FF1 and FS1 is, but congrats anyway :) Any hopes on a job soon? RemiAndKaren 0 #3 September 20, 2001 ...FF1 and FS1...they're some obscure british cerification thingy... been here 2 years and I still dont know what they mean....sorta like self supervised and then 4 point 4 way or something... or is that FS8? Damm Brits... they're good at making things complicated.... Remiwho still is frustrated about moving to a country where you need 1000 jumps for your D....RemiMuff
wingnut 0 #4 September 20, 2001 QuoteFF1 and FS1...ff1- freefly 1 lets ya do freefly with others.fs1 - formaton skydiving1 lets ya do more than solos..i think that's right. i can't seem to remember to much of the weekend i spent with moose, benw, and skreemer besides my noose! (and that amstel beer is okay). the bpa makes ya get all kinds of diffrent stuff compared to what the uspa does before ya can do formation regardless of your flying style. sorta like the idea, sorta like how the uspa is set up..... congrats on getting them though!!!!!!"up my noooossseee"- wingnut, at first euro dz.com boogie

Joolee 0 #7 September 25, 2001 Hi Pammi...like the hair!!! My degree is in Classical Studies - not hugely applicable to jobs in the modern world but it is a subject that I like a lot. FS1 = Allows you to do formation jumps with everyone except students. The final qualification jump is a 4-point 4-way.FF1 = Allows you to freefly with other people who are FF1 or FF2. The final qualification jump varies but usually involves turns in sit/stand up, fall rate adjustment and a transition (e.g. a front loop) back into sit. FF2 = all of the above but head down.I'll keep on with the job hunt and keep my fingers crossed.Later Joo
