Kelly 0 #1 October 15, 2001 hey all.i was right about the dumb nurse not fitting the wet cast properly on saturday.. couldnt take the pain anymore today so i bumped my appointment up with the specialist. turns out it was rubbing away my skin, i actually have a wound from it! stupid nurse.its majorly swollen, and im banned from active ambulance work for 4 weeks. i have a cast on up to my knee, that will be there for 2 weeks. after that its a air splint, then following that i will have to wear a brace. all in all my spirits are high cause know i know the extent of the damage and i can actually walk without the crutches!! whoo hee! no more wooden legs for me!i should be jumping again in about 2 months.. im actually debating about traveling (as planned) this winter and resuming jumping in the spring, when ill have time, weather, health and my own home dz all on working for me not plans to travel, winter, new dz's and a just recovering injury. I dont know yet, but ive got to think long term here and what would be safest. I dont want to make 10 jumps in december just to not jump everyday because i reinjure it or the weather is squirrley. i dont know. not sure what ill do! but im healing as we speak so all is good.kel"i can not attest to what i did, just what i remember...."~me, after one too many

tigra 0 #3 October 15, 2001 Hi Kelly,Sorry to hear you are hurt. I missed what happened, but I'm glad it wasn't anything worse. Hope everything heals up OK. Make your own decision (with good medical advice) to back it up as far as when you will be ready to jump again. You're still sort of new, and new gear, new dz and 1st jump back from an injury is a lot for anyone to combine into one jump.Hang in there! The skies will be waiting for you whatever you decide about this winter!maura
jtval 0 #4 October 15, 2001 hey kel, i went thourgh something similar (with all those 1st's)i had broken my collar bone(non sky related) it took 8 months to heal. i only had 19 jumps under my ...well, under me. during my recovery i saved some $$, bought my rig, with b.o.c. pc(ive only been on rc til then) and my home dz closed.so needless to say i was a little nervous about, i didnt want to kill myself or anyone else, y'know). my first 12 jumps back in the sky were skydive u!( i saved up some $$) so stay informed do as much research as you can dont be afraid to look nervous.within the next three months after that i jumped 82 times. got lots of experience(for that amount of time) i jumped at 7 diferent dz etc etc etc. now im here growing rotts again. so my piont (which i stayed from a while ago) is to BE SAFE!!!im sure you will be and dont be afraid to look nervous and ask questionsheal fast and post some good storieshave funLIVE FREE,skydiveJT
