Pammi 0 #2 October 10, 2001 Argh...6 months!? Poor thing. I imagine it's a love/hate thing....you want to watch skydiving since you miss it, but it only makes you miss it more, eh?! More sex perhaps? :) Hemp/skydiving jewelry pics!
freeflir29 0 #3 October 10, 2001 Why can't you jump? If it's a money thing....well......you have two kidneys and really only need one. "The sky resembles a back lit canopy...with holes punched through it"- IncubusClay

Schroeder 0 #5 October 10, 2001 It WAS going to be 6-7 months for me too, until I quit my job last week and decided to move to Vancouver BC again. Thank-fully I can jump out at Pacific Skydivers in Pitt Meadows. Hey speaking of which, do you guys know of anyone here that jumps out there?
Merrick 0 #6 October 10, 2001 Quote"Why can't you jump? If it's a money thing....well......"No man, it's worse... he's stuck in Korea or somewhere for a year where there's not a DZ for thousands of miles! He has his rig sitting right in front of him, and probably has plenty of money to blow on jumps (can't imagine those little Korean girls in the red-light district cost too much... $5, love you long time. LOL). Hang in there JT... I was only out for about a month & 1/2 when I broke my leg (& I hadn't made any jumps for about 2 weeks or so before that) that was the longest 2 months ever.... I can't imagine going a year, or even six months without jumping. Just try not to think about it (I know, you'll try not to breathe either right?), and the time will fly by!Peace Brudda!"Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
freeflir29 0 #7 October 10, 2001 "$5, love you long time. LOL"Nahhh...it's closer to $40-60 USD. I forgot about his tour in "The land of the not quite right" My 14 and a half months there was quite an experience. It was a pretty good day when I boarded the "Freedom Bird" cattle train back to Seattle. Visiting Korea is great but only for two weeks or so. After that the smell, bad food, horrible beer, and complete lack of anything to do do besides drink and blow stuff up starts to wear on you...."The sky resembles a back lit canopy...with holes punched through it"- IncubusClay
Katzeye 0 #8 October 10, 2001 jtval - I sympathize with you. I'm out until March at least - that will make it a full year since I tore my ACL (and let's not forget the back injury). I'll have to upsize my canopy AND get a refresher jump - ach!The first month was unbearable, the second month I didn't get the shakes anymore from lack of air, the third month I was a total beach and now... well I watch the videos and say "I used to skydive!" Sometimes I even scratch my head and wonder how I did that!Katzeye
jtval 0 #9 October 11, 2001 yeeeup korea has no dz's I ve had this problem (well kinda ) before. when i busted my collar bone in that horrific frisbee accident( no shit, i really did break it while playing frisbee). but the thing was... i was still driving 250 miles to the dz on most weekends and b ringing tandems for them to throw. and i was saving for my rig...that, as merrick said , is sitting in front of me. i lost count of how many times ive re packed it. man it is lonely. no a skydiving soul in sight. (hears where i sing) no-body knoowsss the trou-ble ive seen. no-bodeee knoowwss my soorrroowwwss!korea is an experience but i havent had much opportunity to go off exploring here. so it is getting old.FAST. maybe when i get my phone line hooked up here(supposedly today) ill be able to chat with you guys again. but ive been detached from everything i hold dear....(well almost everything i HOLD) hahahave funLIVE FREE,skydiveJT

freeflir29 0 #11 October 11, 2001 JTVal.....I have a depression easer for you. I forgot which base you went to but if it's Osan you're in luck. Go down to the 25th FS and go in the first little office on the right after you walk in the door. There will sit two hung over obnoxious ROMADs that go out to Koon Ni range every Thursday to train pilots on Close Air Support. They also get into many other adventures of the cool military training type. If you feed them some beer and tell them how great they are you can probably hook up with them so you can get the hell off that installation and see some of the country side. Korea is pretty cool once you get away from the "American" areas. Plus watching stuff blow up and flying around in helicopters probably beats your average daily routine. Oh yeah, there are Free (I say again FREE) places to stay on the Youngson Army post. Or you can go all out and get a nice hotel room at the Dragon Hill or in E'Taewon. Just some suggestions to break the boredom. I know how bad those first couple months can be."The sky resembles a back lit canopy...with holes punched through it"- IncubusClay
freaksister 0 #12 October 11, 2001 I sure hope he's not going for those $5 whores over there b/c he'll end up with a VD! Those countries are NOTORIOUS for that.SisMusic should trigger some kind of response... - The Chemical Brothers
freeflir29 0 #13 October 11, 2001 "Those countries are NOTORIOUS for that"Korea is probably not AS backwards as you might think but yes, hookers everywhere have diseases! and they are closer to $40-60 USD. The days of $3 Nikes are long gone over there. Man, did I laugh in this guys face when he told me the Phillipinas get $130 USD a pop over there. freeflir29 0 #15 October 12, 2001 Oh yeah....JT get someone that knows the area to take you to the "Red Light" district in Seoul. It's a pretty interesting place to walk around. The chics really don't like Americans usually but it sure is fun to "window shop" You just don't see things like that very often. Jessica 0 #16 October 13, 2001 Hey JT -- maybe go through your logbook and remember the blast-ass times you've had on particular jumps...I know whenever I remember that one you and I did at Skydive Texas, I grin like an idiot. I think that was my pre-second successful two-way with anyone other than a JM.
jtval 0 #17 October 15, 2001 hey jess, thanks for the jump... ive been doing stuff like that it does help. most of my jumps were filmed to so i have been watchin them. i knew i was gonna be grounded so i made sure i got ALOT of vid's probably about 20-25 jumps on video. not bad for only having 102.i have also trying ground diving.(thats how i busted my collarbone) i tried agin this weekend. i was runnning across the base. when i saw this hill. and my addiction to being high took over. as fast as i could think about it i was in the air. did a flip, as i was going down the hill. landed on my feet tried another one(because momentum got the better of me) landed on my back...kinda! i was pretty impressed with my stupidity and agility. it went just like i planned until the second flip. i landed on a rock or something.(it was dark) and hurt my rib. it isnt broke or anything(thank god) but it keeps telling my "I'M STILL HERE" but it was fun. oh yea i forgot one detail ....i was drunk as hell .hahaha it was fun i wish i had it on video. a few of my friends that saw me do it were pretty amazed that i did it relatively smoothly. thats what they said the next day when we were laughing at me. hahaha.jess--eventually im coming for that beer you owe me.(but itll be after i jump. not the other way aroung like this story) have funLIVE FREE,skydiveJT
