Its a Spectre 150!I still have two other canopies I am going to demo, but I am just stoked to get my first one! For those of you who don't know, I have my own gear, with a Hornet 170 main, but I am looking to downsize to a 150. Yeah, I know, I downsize in small increments. So what? Kelly 0 #2 October 24, 2001 April,lemme tell ya~ I absolutely love the Spectre's that ive jumped (190, 170, 150 and going to be a 135).I like the fact that its a 7 cell and I absolutely love the fact that its 'ground hungry'. I dont remember much about the Sabre, I only jumped one 3 times. I learned a lot about the spectre by doing H&P's from full altitude. Each time that I downsize my first jump is a H&P from as high as I can get. I can practice everything imaginable from that high. and as I downsized I was able to see the difference in flight and landing. It seems that the smaller I go the easier the landings are.. And thats why I purchased a 135 (loading a tiny bit less than 1:1) before I even jumped one.A friend of mine had to land off... He misjudged the distance needed for landing and ended up going thru a couple of weak trees. He was jumping a nine cell, not as ground hungry (name withheld). If he had been jumping a spectre and turned final at the same alti he wouldnt have hit the trees. Hope you love the spectre as much as I do! Remeber that on occasion something is going to happen that will make want to land as quickly as possible. that is the moment that you realize how much you love your spectre Let us know how it goes!kel PS- um, i should be NEAR Texas in a few weeks.... hint hint... Kelly 0 #3 October 24, 2001 oh yeah one more thing:even after my rough landing, the injuries, and the time off, the need to get recurrent, the new gear that im not ready for now (cause of the injuries), the total fear that was dominating my mind right before i hit, I still love it. That accident was totally my fault. It had nothing to do with the canopy, the size, or the wing loading. it was completely me. Now granted, i could jump a canopy that 'eases in' more, but i dont want that.
