Jessica 0 #1 October 24, 2001 I'm gettin' me some prescription goggles from sportsrx.com. What tint should I get? I want SOME cut-down on the glare, but not so much that I can't wear 'em on the sunset load.My choices: amber, grey 1, grey 2, and grey 3. Thoughts? SkymonkeyONE 4 #2 October 24, 2001 It is my opinion that amber doesn't block sun at all; it just sharpens contrast when visibility gets low (which is a good thing). I would get the lightest gray if you "must" get a sun-blocker.Chuck"I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy"
lazerq3 0 #3 October 25, 2001 I know when I go sking I wear sunglasses unless it starts to snow then I break out my goggles which happen to be amber. It makes things way bright for me and sometimes hard to read the ground. SO if it were me I'd get a shade of grey. Plus the only people I know that wear amber glasses are the slapjaw yodelers I work with that walk around going "hyuk hyuk,,got me a big deer other day.jason
indyz 1 #4 October 25, 2001 I've been thinking about getting a set of prescription goggles from sportrx too. Since I'm still on student status, do you guys think that my DZ would let me wear them if they had a slight tint? I know, I should ask at the DZ, but it's gonna be a few weeks until I can get back, and I'm the impatient type. I was looking at a pair with changeable lenses, but they cost twice as much (unless I only want one set of lenses, but that sort of defeats the purpose) .--Brian
jumpervali 2 #5 October 25, 2001 With all the thought put into the tint with respect to landings, sunset loads, ect. Think about the need to have good eye contact with the other folks your jumping with. If there too tinted it's hard for others to read your eyes. Now it gets even more complex.....jumpervali
Jessica 0 #6 October 25, 2001 Well, it sounds like amber would be the most practical, but...QuotePlus the only people I know that wear amber glasses are the slapjaw yodelers...You mean if i wear amber goggles I won't get the chicks?
