FallinWoman 1 #4 October 24, 2001 I don't think so, ulnless this is very new. I just got my B a couple of months ago and have not taken the BIC.Isn't the BIC combined with the Coaches course? If so, don't you have to have a C license?
Merrick 0 #5 October 24, 2001 Directly from the 2001 updated SIMS manual section 3.1;D.2:Quote"Persons holding a USPA B license are able to exercise all priveleges of an A-License holder, perform night jumps, attend a USPA Basic Instructors Course, and must have...."Sorry baby.... told ya! lol"Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
jumpervali 2 #6 October 24, 2001 The B.I.C. is not required for a B license. The B.I.C. is a basic instructors course/coaches course. It is independent of any licenses. It gives you the option to do coaching dives and (also teach parts of the fjc under the direct supervision of an instructor). Once you've got a B you may attend one. I recommend going to one if you're having one in your area. It is a good rating to get when the chance is available. One day you will want it and then you'll have to wait to find one. There is no time like the present. You'll need to contact uspa for your course package.jumpervali

Shark 0 #14 October 24, 2001 Better do it quick cuz the BIC will be no more next year. In some parts it is already combined with the Coach Course, like in SoCal.

Damn, that'd be a hell of a way for USPA to make more money.. "To get your B license, you have to take the BIC - which will, next year, be a part of the Coach course.." Hmm...get a Coach rating before a B license......cool!Mike
